I never had a problem with regards to the authorities, but it still didn't make it right, going to drop some miglias on when i get round to that stage of the rebuild, had trouble finding a wider version of the standard plastic arches as I actually quite like them. The spiyda guy who makes those led replacements lives not too far from me haha

I love the standard plastic arches!! But with most 10's now a days.. there either to thin n dont fill them.. or too wide and stick out like them! Its very frustrating! Like for example i loved the look of nicks clubby with std arches and wellers.. then once the mini got lowered it was only then you realise that the arches didnt quite cover them either! Ho hummm

Ya it's frustrating not being able to find the right size arch.. Do u think miglias would look silly on it, if they were cut down an inch or two?

Personly dont think miglias are a good look, Theres a yellow clubby on black wellers on ebay at the moment.. ive forgotten what the arches are called but i think they suit wide clubbys the best

They are just group 4's.. He hasn't had to cut his wings either and his wheels look to be out as far as mine...

He must of had to trim them? It cant be sitting that high to clear them, plus i think yours stick out a bit more than wellers

Well folks, happy new year to you all (if its not too late to say that still)!!

Today is the first day since mid december that I've managed to get out and have a little play with the mini. Primed the oil pump and managed to finally get oil pressure! Woohoo!! Killed the battery in the process but hey ho.. we have pressure!

I was thinking about leaving it to the professionals (or took advise from here) to getting the engine started, bed in and set up on the rolling road. Have any of you guys ever used or know anything about 'Southam mini & metro centre'…? I rang them a little while ago and had a good chat with them, for the sake of a few hundred quid I can have all the suspension set up properly, engine checked over, bed in and then set up on the rolling road..

So anyone know anything about them?

I've only ever been there to have cam bearings fitted in two 998 blocks, but that was based on good recommendations, and they seemed like they knew what they were doing

I've been to their place and it seemed pretty well set up in am old school way. They do have a good rep but not sure what they know about turbos

Ok good, yeah they seemed to know all about it and they said they have done plenty of turbos so sounds good...

I had my suspension set up by them in march. Top blokes.
I'm going to get my engine set up by them as they know about megajolt and didn't seem phased by a turbo.
There workshop is well kitted out.

My build thread..

I know I know... Not long now hopefully! It hasn't had the love and affection it truly deserves lately... I'm back in the zone though (or so I reckon lol)...

Greetings... I've just crawled back out from under my rock and thought I'd better show a bit of interest in the mini as it's been rather neglected. Just had loads going on, house was extended in Feb so the mini went to live in my mates garage for 3 months, spent a lot of time on the shed that I put pics up of before that has now become a pub in my garden and it looks great.. I'll get some pics up of that too shortly.. and just general life getting in the way!
Looking at the previous couple of posts it would seem I clearly wasn't in 'the zone' back in January!
Well, I think I am now... so much so that I had it picked up this morning to be taken back to the painters to get a few bits done that I know I'll never get round to myself...

Off she goes again...

Still trying to figure out which arches would suit best...

So, again not much of an update but more of something to get me back in the game again... Should have it back in a week or two.. then, finally, on the road to getting it started once and for all!

Indeed.. garage is like a bombsite since we had the work on the house done, the builders were using it as their store/tearoom.. so whilst she's away I can have a good clear out. A new beginning!
