Looks great mate, where did you get your megajolt loom from or did you make it?

Cheers mate… I got it from David Wilson. Look on page 6 of this thread and you'll see his details, near the top of the page.

Anyways… a few other issues aside, got a bit ahead with the wiring loom. With some help from David, managed to sort out whats what, cut out and replaced a lot of the old shite, tidied and retaped it all…

Lots of new connections in place, finally starting to look like a decent loom…

Cables to the fuse box will be extended to route inside and be located somewhere in the region of the glove box location. Possibly on show or hidden but no longer in the engine bay… I'll be looking at something like an 8 way fuse box, so I could add stuff to it…

Drilled a 20mm hole next to where I mounted the coil pack, routed the loom out through this hole and somehow it'll all be dressed neatly to its various locations…

Next I'll chop the cables (in the region of the fuel pressure regulator below) and put a connector/plug in line for the front end lighting loom, so the front can be removed if needs be…

Gone for LED's all round…

Not quite finished on the loom yet, still more tidying and a few other ideas in the pipeline..

Another whole day disappeared today whilst working on the electrics. Made some good progress however…

Installed the loom for front, all connected up and installed plugs so it can be removed should it need be…

Loom extended back into the cabin, down drivers side of the roll cage, along inner door sill and back around the battery to the new location of some relays..

Used the rear seat support as a bracket for mounting the new relays for the lights and some other bits..

A new battery too..

Wired in a complete new fuse box with extra fuses to cater for all my additions..

Which will be located in the glove box along with the MJ ecu somewhere around here…

And then I heard God say "Let there be light"….

And light there was…

Quite satisfying to see the lights working finally…

The relays are giving me the full whack of the power so the halogens are very bright… won't be getting lost anyway..

I sense the firing up of a nice new engine soon...

Exciting times! *Yes*

Not much of an update.. been doing little bitty jobs on it here and there. Nothing really to document about…

But, ain't posted any pics of her up lately.. in the process of getting her ready for a start soon… hence my other thread at the moment.

I did re-plumb the intercooler so that its at an angle again. Having it straight on was causing me too much of a heartache trying to get the front to close down properly.. so, a few pics of how it sits now..

Closes fine now, sits level but needs fixing somehow. Well its not square on but its in the airflow so not too bad..

Ok chaps, took your advise and scrapped the idea of filing down the existing 2 pot callipers to get them under my 10" wheels.. bought a set of used 4 pots off a gentleman on here… came with 7.9" vented & grooved discs and pads..

Discs had a wee bit of surface rust from where they'd been sat unused for a while but with a bit of elbow grease came out quite nice..

Not much room for balancing strips….!

Should look something like this with the front down…

Gonna have to chop my nicely painted wings for the turning radius of the wheels *surprised*

Looking rather chunky now…

Think ill need wider arches than first thought….

Thats it for now, I'll attempt the other side next week when I'm off…

A much better job anyway (and safer) than the 2 pots… Looks much better too!

Looks good! With the balancing on my 10's my weights had to be removed for same reason.. my tyre guy got them bang on perfect without any? *oh well*

Cheers Dave.. So last time I was in minispares the bloke told me I'd have to change the rear cylinders if I was using 4 pots on the front, due to the 'feel' on the pedal or something like that.. Is that something you chaps know about or does it sound a bit spurious?? I can't see how it's affected myself...

Never heard of it myself.. what arches are you going for? Do the wheels stick out more at the front than back?

I'm running stsndard 84on rear cylinders on mine with no issue.

As for the arches, i know you've bought new wheels but have you any 5x10s kicking about to try on it? I got away without arches on mine with the 5x10 revies and yours looks pretty damn smart as it is

As for arches I'm not sure yet, possibly w&p ones I've seen.. At the moment the camber of the wheel is way out, the bottom arm needs adjusting... That's why the top looks like it's out way more than the back..

I did have some 5x10 steel rims on the front and you could turn the wheel without hitting the arch of the wing.. The problem with these wheels I have is the offset, they are so deep... But I can't change them, they are awesome lol..

Well I dunno then tbh, I'll find something... I think you may be right, the front may stick out wider than the rears on further inspection... (even though the camber is way out).

What arches would you go for?

I think I'm right in that the wood and picket arches fix onto the seam. Given you'll have to cut the front arch, you 'll have nothing to fit to and I recall you rubbed the rear arches too?? In which case the rear wouldn't have a seam to fit to.

You could always attach them with some internal 'L' brackets like you would a Miglia arch but that might loose some of their smooth look appeal.

I originally wanted to use gp2 s on mine but they wouldn't cover the tubbed rear arch. If your looking for something tailored (as opposed to a race look), you'll need something with a bit of height in the arch section (hard for me to describe without a section drawing)

You'll struggle to fit a bracket under the W&P i would imagine. They would have to sit high on the body to get something to fit under them to bolt to the body.

I'd have it archless if I could get away with it lol...
