ok so just tried to post and the dam computer had a hissy fit so in sort what i had tried to say
made progress today
idle air was doing as rod said some how was flating or moveing
pulled it taped it 3 or 4 times with grey duckt tape back on and steady rpm now so win

but

afr is miles off and it seems to be running on only cyl 4 like a diesel tractor
the cyl 1 and 2-3 runners are prety cold compared to 4 ie a spray with wd 40 wets and stays on 1 and 2-3 but rapidly burns off 4 so clearly hotter

check the plugs,

could it be that 4 is the issue running hot, say due to an air leak?

well in all my messing about with settings ive caused 4 or of 5 plugs to foul

sometimes hard to stop and think about the basics when all you want is it to work

so its now at a place where i think i can start working on actual basic tuning

stable idle and it reacts to what i ask it to do basic but exciting stuff

theres a couple of points there where the RPM spikes to zero, any idea what that is?

joe thats a good call i forgott to mention that the alternator is not wired up and that im running on a battery alone so after a little while it drops in voltage so to get to the point here the relay that gives power to the ecu fuel pump and coils begins to run out of juice to stay held in and drops out for a millisecond because the load drops off it re gains just enugh to re latch
well thats my thoughts as i can feel the relay going in and out as the rpms dip
at first i thought it was the cam or crank sender not picking up a tooth or something but it looks good on the viewer thing

Not at home at the moment (on phone) so not yet looked at the logs but unless you have got your battery voltage calibration AND injector voltage calibration both spot on already, I would get your alternator connected. At these low pulse widths you will probably be close enough to work on the idle at 14.2V but you could be miles out with the pulsewidths below 12V before the calibrations are sorted.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

hmm i dont think its battary voltage thats the cause of the relay dropping out

had a quick look in the log and it drops out at as low as 10.8v that should be enough to keep it held in

eather way i will wire the alternator in when i get a chance

started at 12.4 when down to 11.8 and since you mentioned the injector flow and voltage it makes sence that i had to keep adding fuel as time went on i thought it was a bit weird since normaly you take fuel as it heats up i think this explains it tho

whont be anything for a while the new house is ready for me to do the electrical fit out and aircons as well as another day at the track
