Proposed new runner length is 32cm on the inners and 30cm on the outers. This setup will then theoretically be tuned to maximise peak rpm 8000rpm, but should also make substantial gains in torque over the standard 20/22cm runner length. I will do back to back test on the dyno once the cars up and running though.

Ok there's no where near enough clearance for the Radtec radiator. I forgot the front shorter than normal for some reason. Is it possible to move the engine back on the subframe 1". I think it's a Spi injection subframe so the was holes are probably drilled forward by 1/2" over a older frame anyway.

If not looks like am back to plan for a full custom, lightweight jobby. Maybe the Radtec on the clubman if need be.

This popped up on FB the other day, was quite an interesting video.

Maybe it's already been posted here, but seeing the intake setup, thought it quite relevant.

That video is awesome! When I had these TBs running on my 1330cc with a mild cam, they were quite quiet in comparison. I'm hoping the big cam and 8k should change all that.

Do you think longer runners will sound any louder?

Obviously tuned lengths etc will dictate lengths.

But I was always under the impression shorter for higher rpm's, longer for lower rpm torque etc.

Interesting in the video too, the amount of fuel getting chucked out !

I've seen a graph with different lengths, it's all a comprise, but around 350mm gives the highest average bhp across the Rev range. I'm looking for peak power at 8k for the drag strip really. 300/320mm is about right for my plans and air box location. Short is classed as 175mm for 15k revs. About 700mm for 3-4k.

Looks like you've come to the same conclusions as me. I'm making my runners threaded so I can try different lengths on the dyno easily.

Extension Rams ordered

They add 67mm & 97mm with a optional tuning 30mm spacer. Plan is the have the air box removable that's comes out through the bonnet. Second set of injectors should sit just behind the bonnet line.

With custom length staggered 60mm & 80mm Rams in the air box. Then a JC50-65 air filter. The larger air box is needed to re-centre things to the bonnet centre position, as the runners are slightly offset by about 30mm to one side.

The carbon tray is incredibly rigid, thin and lightweight. Think it might be the first piece of 'genuine' piece of carbon fibre on the car. Made by Reverie.

2 different flow rates. Lower flow rate set set is used at low engine speed/low load cases with the higher flow rate set phased in as required at higher engine speed/high load.

Result is better control and atomisation at each load/speed case than a single injector set up

Second injectors should be worth another 6bhp at peak revs hopefully. When I get the engine on the dyno, I plan to try all different options including several different runner lengths and different % blend maps.

No going back now!

Still loads to trim off yet, but waiting until everything is fitted. That's my old 100mm depth air filter from my Webcon 7 port build. Hopefully the 65mm, won't look quite as in your face.

They're all small injectors anyway though are the not ?

be interesting to see if it does make a difference.

Apparently the second injector, needs to as far up scream as possible. The idea being better fuel mixing and cooling effect, hence denser air and more power.

John kimmins found 6% more power in John Hastins Sprint with a second set of injectors. The benefits were there to see from as low as 3-4k rpm.

Med have also experimented and found a significant improvement with this setup on a customers full race 155bhp 7 Port.

Being more about placement than size makes more sense

But with the bonnet and filter, will you be able to get them located well upstream ?

About 190mm from the valve. Not ideal, but better than nothing. Least it should stop fuel been wasted, due to the pressure waves as in the video above.
