The block will be going off for a skim and a new sleeve this week as the det mark is pretty bad!

Got the block back nice and fresh!

Started to build it back up at the weekend but ended up needing bigger thrust washers so was put on hold till today.

Ate this and felt sickly full for the rest of the day *hehe!*

Anyone replaced the whole inner of the turbo before?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181293138846

The shaft will cost me about £60 so thought about just doing this.

Should be able to get on with building the block up again tomorrow after waiting for some +3 thrust washers!

Quick tip, do it the other way around, e.g. turn block upside down then lower the box onto the block. Simply because the box is a lot lighter and easier to handly than the block is.

Thanks guys.

Cheers for the advice Tom.

When fitting the CPU it says to just use a 1" bolt and a nyloc nut. I just used a bolt and nyloc i had laying around. Gears clear it fine so should be ok?

Can't wait to get this dropped back in the car *smiley*

Should be fine.

Have you put cam lube on the bores?? Wouldn't do that myself as it might stop the rings bedding in as well..

It's just assembly lube for when i fitted the pistons.

Hopefully i may have got myself a straight cut box!

i do agree nothing on the rings and bores except wd40 or equivalent light lube anything to thick may prolong the time to seat the rings in fully

looks grate

looking good Nick. agree with the others though re the lube in the bore; I'd clean that off now and simply use oil
