I was wrong about the VNT not limiting the boost, the one way valve to the suction side of the actuator had failed so both sides were seeing boost so the vanes were not opening....

although i've not reved the engine that high the bost is staying down at 7 psi up to about 4500 rpm.

Brilliant! Well done.

I assume that a bleed valve/MBC can be spliced into one of the pipes to adjust boost in the usual manor?

The new lump is in!!

I now have more than 25 psi oil pressure.

what a bastard to swap out, took 4 full days although that did involve touching the valves back on their seats and reaming the guides, and a few other alterations along the way.

was dead woried at first as third gear was quite crunchey, but it seems to be getting better, must just be the new baulk rings.

have a few little things to sort out still, the rockers are hitting the cover, and the gaskets leaking a bit, the oil pressure wants lowering a bit (80-90psi at the mo),

also the vnt does not limit boost....

Ho do you find the remote box I have a standard one and its always been very tight,no matter how much I have greased everything, a kad quick shift has helped. I drove a car with a rod box and it just slipped in and out of gear.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Gary, yep I can just add a boost valve in line to wind the boost up :)

Graham, the remote box i took out had a lovely shift, the one thats gone in is much stiffer. hopfully it will loosen up a bit.

ehat ever it is thats different is deffo in the box as i'm using the same remote,

Vegard posted a while back that its worth fettling the selector rods while they are out of the box by breaking the edves of the groove where the balls locate.

Why are you ditching the KAD 6 pots. I know a couple of people that have them and have always said how good they are?

Are you not impressed with them?

The KAD 6 pots are an excellent caliper, but not ideal for road use as they don't have dust seals fitted.

as Gary says, the lack of dust seals can be an issue on the road.

thanks for the reply, I presume you are talking about parts inside the box or the knuckles on-top of the diff?. I have never had one open and mine has always been stiff

Hey 13

Sorry i forgot to get some pics up earlier. Here are a few i took when i first fitted the Wilwoods. The mounts were supplied by Z-cars.

Reading on from above Mine dont have dust seals though as they are really intended for race use but mine never see any shite weather or salt anyway.

thanks Andy,

looks like they are the smaller powerlite caliper, but if Z cars use those they may have brackets to fit mine, i'll get in touch with them and see.

Probably worthwhile as they made mine to suit my hub/caliper/drive flange assembly and they were a perfect fit.

Had a measure up and stuff of the wilwoods i have, and started to make the caliper mounts....

there no way they are going under 10's LOL the smallest disc they are going to go on is about 8.7" on the mini hubs so have ordered some 10.5's, (looks like i'll be sticking woth 13's)

anyway, here is one of the mounts, not got the caliper bolt holes in yet, need to double check before drilling them.

Been out in Joes 7 porter this weekend (even had a little go myself) and I have to say it's fucking awesome!

Boost is available from virtually no revs and even on the relatively low 8psi it pulls so strong especially after 5500-6000 when you get another huge surge of power.

I'm impressed to say the least. Well done mate! ... and thanks again for the help over the weekend.
