Not happy to disagree with the experts but I have breathers on timing cover, rocker box and distributor hole (the latter with a Moroso non return can) and all I ever get in the catch tank is water vapour. |

I think the point about coolant & oil temp is very much on the money. Especially as you are introducing moisture by virtue of the WI. The breathers also need to be able to breathe, via a catch can, but with some way of allowing the moisture to get out.

I think it filled with water and then started to pull oil out as everything blocked up.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Well hopefully do some testing tomorrow afternoon in the meantime, one of the guys on the mk1 forum took a load of great pics, and one of my car, popping a small wheelie, not bad for a car with hydro suspension

Well the brake pads are shot on the drivers side where they have been contaminated with oil.

Ok new brake pads installed and I have plumbed in a new baffled catch tank that takes one line from the rocker box and one from the crank case. The output is via a pcv valve and is connected to the air filter.

Ok so it made it to Brighton and back, it ran very well. The new catch tank, and breather back to the airfilter seems to be running well too.

Hi, no its on Hydro... with the "competition" bump stops front and rear (I thought these were a good idea to help protect from a bag failure). with the suspension now all pointing in the correct direction (thanks to the setting that WilH gave me)... and a rear ARB.

Could be corrosion deposit...... What metals are in contact with the water/ meth mix? Nozzle, fittings etc...... On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

How strong a meth/water mix are you running ? The meth is corrosive.

I have tried two different nozzles, brass and a stainless nickle plated job, both do it, even if it's straight water. I think the nozzle is small so the block with gunk let alone a particle. A strip down sorts it, I think I will setup a little purge system so I can blow the line through when it stands I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Can't you just blow the air line down it? |

Thanks for the kind words, however, I must admit your clubby was spotless, and it went like a missile! I was very impressed.

I really enjoyed the whole weekend (apart from the ice on my tent in the morning). I was happy that my car didnt let me down apart from loosening manifold nuts. Thanks Graham. To be honest I was supprissed myself of how it went, not so much the power more the way it handled and I was able to use it on a high boost setting without it squirming all over the place. I was using avonbars new ultimate ph3 cam which liked to rev but i feel it would be more suited for a gt20. It's a great track for minis. On the Sunday I had a good go with one of those bike engined striker cars for a good 8 laps until I ran out of breaks and more likely talent on the bend near the start and finish which was great amusement for the crowd. |

Ok cock, was doing some basic checks and I started the car and it smoked a bit. I warmed it up a little and then changed the oil and found a chunk of tooth and a fury sump plug ☹️ I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

What’s the tooth? Looks like a synchro one, can’t remember the technical term! |
