As above, with carbide and alloy you need to use a lubricant or it will clog, there isnt really any way around that

Cast iron will cut cleanly with no problems

Yep it will hopefully be 498kg, depending on actual weight of shell when I get it home and on the scales. Hoping the cage only weighs 32kg. Old cage was 27kg. Endaf as weighed it and reckons it's actually a lot less, but we will see.

Roof is also been chopped off and weighed on Friday. New Carbon roof is a few weeks away from compleation yet.

Custom cages T45 Historic, a few extra T45 bars and tied into the shell in as many places as possible for stiffness.

Nice build! Was just looking at the pictures and can't spot the wiper motor in the engine bay Have you relocated it? *happy*

I did on the turbo, to make space for the air filter. New miglia bulkhead means another relocation.

Been considering running, just 1 larger wiper this time as the mugs do, maybe using a metro rear wiper assembly. (Weight permitting)

Well done mate.. How tall are you? I'm going to adjust my target to 12st 0lb. According to BMI I should be 11stone.

I'm getting a little obsessive with both the car and myself. I now set my self the challenge to find another 50g loss per day (car). This normally entails a couple of hours every evening looking through all my parts, drilling, grinding or ordering different materials to fabricate them etc. all this effort does motivate me to stick with the diet though. I lost 1.8kg personnelly this week. I dam sight cheaper than titainium bolts costing £400-£600 per kg.

Blimey 4lb thats good going cos i just aim for 2lb a week, i believe i am 5ft 9 1/2 from what i can remember at doctors... and i too have been told that i should be 11stone! And now im 12stone my family, mrs and friends are saying that i look right now and that anymore weightloss is silly and i wont look right? But i know i have some more id like to lose so gonna push for that last stone!
Like you say its much cheaper to lose it off of us rather than the car! I am attempting a little more weightloss off the car but not to the extreme you have... YET it will happen tho!! So many ideas in my head! I also will be obsessed with it too and people are saying ' are you not going a bit silly with all this ' BUT as weve spoke before its slightly therapeutic and challenging which i enjoy *smiley* keep up the good work and cant wait to see the new and improved you and mini haha

Do you still have the other seat belt mounts at the bottom of the rear bulkhead?

First thing when I got home from the 5 hour trip from South Wales.

Everything as been weighed as its gone on / off the car.

Seat mount 2.2kg
Steering coloulm and tubbing 1.95kg
Bulkhead 1.4kg
Roof removed -9.9kg
Few panels removed -1.8kg

Therefore from 109kg prevously the cage must weigh approx 30.2kg.
That's puts me under my 500kg, with a few Kg's to spare.

Really happy how it's turned out. Endaf Owens as done a brilliant job. Really nice guy too. Got loads of great advice and ideas for the rest of the build. Going to get him to do me a alloy front mounted radiator and header tank.
