i spent almost an hour tweeking the the threshold and hysteresis pots (R52, R56)
made no difference to the logs

sorry for the quality of them tm wouldnt let me upload the jpegs

this is the failed starts

Hey Brett. The jumping out of gear when agressively closing throttle could possibly be down to the engine rocking? If the engine is fixed well with lots of steadies (all with good condition bushes ect), it could well be in the gearbox.

its got a solid rose jointed top steady, standard mounts, and mini spares gearbox steadys on the bottom both sides, although these will be replaced by some rose jointed ones as soon as i get spare cash, it does not have the one on the front that extends out to the subframe as i dont like it *happy*
im also thinking up something for the water pump side but its a little busy on that side of the engine bay
it needs to be held in there tight when the inboard gear change gets fitted

swapped the actuator over today, ive ended up using a modified GT17 unit
before fitting i thought on and measured the load required to pull the actuator rod
stock GT17 - 7.6kg to move it 8.3kg at the end of its travel
stock GT17 - 8.5kg to move, 9.2kg full travel
stock GT20 - 18.5kg to move 22kg full travel

no wonder i was getting 23+psi spike and settling down to 18odd psi

i acquired 2 GT17 units both different lengths/size strength but i had to modify the one i used i ran a die down the rod 3 inched further and chopped 2 inch off the end as itr was very long

Good news Brett.

Although I don't know why you'd want less than 20 psi ?

finished building this today works like a charm,
did not realise the carb is not central in the engine bay, so the hole in the bonnet looks like a pair of balls lol

tryed out my diy corner weighing scales, very impressed with the results and gave believable and repeatable numbers it is officially 633KG with almost a 66% / 34% distribution to the front
may have to rob my dads garage for the day to tweak them properly and do a geometry set up on it

pic lost

Have you tried just plumbing the actuator straight into the snail with some 6" long pipe? Just to eliminate the chance of kinked pipe/faulty valve?

Ps the log goes straight over my head

yep done, im going to plumb it too the same take of as the megasquirt tomorrow so i can be sure the snail port isnt giving a dodgy reading and try rig up my camera on the actuator so i can see whats going off

dont get me wrong it will be running 20+psi boost eventually but i want that choice... also i cant exactly tune the needle to fuel for both 10 and 20psi... hence it gets leaner and leaner as the boost rises

It might be worth whipping your downpipe off and doing a bigger dump tube, can't see it making it worse? Got to be worth a try.

Oh I see, so have you ground the flange to join them together?

Just re read your post when I wasn't half asleep lol, I may do the same with mine then.
