Well, not much to say but got some more bits done.

I havent got any pics at mo, laptop wont let me on photobucket for some reason?

Anyhow, ive got the doors on, bonnet, boot, wheel arches and front end are all painted, just need to finish putting the sliders in the windows aswell.

Finally sorted the carb ( i hope ) its been running and driving around again, it brilliant being in it again*happy*

Now for the shit news, apart from sorting a few niggly problems its nearly done, well i thaught it was.
When i had the loom made the lad left the two wires for the alternator off and said id have to have it running to test wich wire whent to where. Now its running and i dont see the guy that made the loom i had a mate call to test the wires but theres a short in it somwhere, so we started to strip the loom to find it. While doing this i havent been able to get the oil pressure gauge to work so ive stripped some more wires from that to test that aswell only to find hes tapped off it for the fan wires ??.
When we went to fire it up the other year apart from the mega jolt not taking to the lap top there also wasnt a feed to power it up, well there was but from memory it was just on cranking.
Then to top it off the only earth on the car is a tiny wire screwed to the back of the header tank braket (that ive been told its not really good enough).

So im in two minds wot to do with the loom, do i try fix the bits and hope the rest is right or start again but i havent a clue with wires and although my friend has am not sure if he'l build a new one.

Oh and theres thick wires solderd to thin ones to join up and legnthen them to where they need to go.

Sounds like a train wreck loom Rick TBH :(

What needs to go into the wiring for the car? It it having all road legal lights/wipers etc?
It may be easiest to start from a decent Mini loom as a base and then have a sub loom for additional gauges and Megajolt say.

Ye thats wot i thaught.

Id thaught of getting an old (new ) mk1 loom as theres just the basics on them then like you say have a separate one for mj and the stack etc.
Got the garage going up next week at home so i might take it up there to make it easer to work on

Had the mot guy down today aswell and hes ok with testing it so bonus, il should be on the road.lol

Bad news. It's not difficult, so I can't see why people bodge it...

I've got my old 78 clubman loom going spare if you want it Rick. Also detailed plans to build your own if you are up for it. It's not hard, just a little time consuming.

plans are on my build thread if you want them. if you just want extra power for fans, megajolt etc i would have an extra fuse box fed by a relay and switched by an ignition feed from the standard fuse box. dead easy to move new circuits to the new fuse box then

With regards to using your current loom..
If your car went on fire would you really want to be thinking that you should have changed it out. It's not worth the risk at all
