I know how you must feel, but you're too close to give up now! Maybe have a day off and come back to it with a fresh attitude bud.

Chin up buddy, head gasket is a simple fix.

I just need some sleep and I will be back at it tomorrow :)

I did have it RR and I got 3 miles away and I noticed the temp so turned her off.

Only a slight bit of mayo so hopefully I caught it very early on. I am looking at replacing the head studs with ARP now, worth it?

I WILL MAKE IT TO L2B!!!!

I'm running standard studs but do know that most people change them to ARP.

It's a personal preference, just remember the correct way to torque them down correctly.

I think i will just get a set of new studs to be sure they arn't at fault.

So where do you guys think i stand with the tuning place and this head gasket? i got 3 miles away and it was gone which to me indicates it was already gone but me driving it made it loose water.

I drove it fine the night before for around 20mins and i drove to the RR which takes 30mins and i know for a fact it had water in because i checked oil and water before setting off to the RR.

I just hope the head is fine :(

So did you have it tuned and then the gasket went? Normally they'll just say there's a disclaimer somewhere that if the engine breaks it's not their fault. In other words if they fuck up and it blows up they get away without coughing up for mistakes they may have made. But then there's so many variables with an engine it could be hard to point the finger if something goes catastrophically wrong. But I would say with the little bit of oil you were burning the other day still that the rollers probably did finish the gasket off, if it was on its way out before.

Do the rings go up that far on the top of the stroke? Not sure if that's even repairable or not, but if it's standard bore you have an easier time finding a replacement block if it comes to it. You could get that sleeved though.

Well it's running again! See how it goes haha.

Gasket failed on 4 and a water port thingy.

I don't think the rings actually go that far up to the damage, put a feeler gauge down and the rings are still intact.

It's not the rings intact that you would be worried about, it's the piston that will have gone.

I'd be doing a comp test before you go driving it around to much

My gasket failed too yesterday, failed on the water way between 3 and 4.

It looked like the head had come slightly loose, checked a couple of the bolts and then need toqueing down to 55 ft/lbs.

Lucky enough it failed at 4000 rpm on the RR so luck like i got away with it.

Ordered new gasket adn ARP studs.

Could that have been there from day one?

Did you remove the pistons when building the motor?

Is it worth me popping the pistons out to check the rings?
