Ok, small problem. The RTS seems to work just fine, but is so heavy!! It hurts my knee every time I press it. It's pissed me off how heavy it is really. I don't want to comprise the car for road use. It would be a nightmare stuck in traffic.

This as set by back. I need to think again or a try different setup, ie different springs and spacer heights.

Or maybe just put the turbo / med 20% upgraded clutch spring back in with a 190cm bonded plate and lightened flywheel.

With the standard turbo setup I got clutch slip at 7psi on gear changes

It'll ease up with a bit of use. If it's still too stiff after that, you could extend the arm like Robert has done. I've tried his and would say it's no heavier than a standard verto.

I think I may have one actually

Yeah I thought about getting a metro cable arm modified for hydraulic use.

This is what was discussed in 2011:

Joe C was converting one in that post, don't actually know if he got it to work.(?)

Dazed and Confused....

Here you go mate, it would be an easy mod. Tho I don't think you could use your dsn slave mount as I think the slave would need raising up.

Joe has done this, but I believe he hasn't had his car running since.

The slave end will need a slot and bush/bearing.

Yep,

mine worked a treat, most reliable part of the car, LOL

I cut down the middle of the metro arm and put some bearings in each side, below are some pics.... or you can just bolt/braze two mini arms together....

Are the arms made of cast iron? Could they be welded?

can you use a pre vert arm and slae position?

the arms look like steel, probably a low grade though,

the preverto arm will not give enough movement to disengage the clutch,

Been looking in to this since fitting the RTS clutch, Sprocket said Joe had done this mod but couldn'y find the trend.

Joe,
Did the metro arm and verto slave give enough throw to disengage the clutch?

yep, Ive used both types of slave, there is little difference between them, the bite point is still fairly near the top with the metro arm. dunno how mugh longer you could go though,

How much lighter does it make the pedal?

about 25% from the calcs, makes a big difference to the feel though, mine feels like its got somthing like an orange in there, roberts almost feels like a std 998 clutch.
