Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Matt, your power was awesome for a 5 port! using gas doesnt make it a bad figure at all.

hope the photos came out well *smiley*

it does make a difference mate if you run gas it's so easy to get 270 brake and have it hold together, without the gas the car would just blow up!! *happy*

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Matt did 13.4 and, as Brett says, it looked quite casual in doing so.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I have to say guys that this was a fantastic weekend, the whole shubang, bloody great and so good to meet up.

The RR day on Saturday was a real eye opener with some very impressive outputs. Many thanks to Jim for also bringing his car scales so that we could work out power to weight ratios.

As for Sunday, I can finally declare I am no longer a 'strip virgin' and am hooked despite posting my only run of the day with a tad over 17 secs at 83 mph - the only run due to the mahoosive waiting times with jo public, completely obnoxious - but some very impressive machinery including the Fire Force jet car which typically ran a 5.8 sec, 278 mph quarter - barking.

I know my time was not great but I had such a laugh - I was also beyond no shadow of doubt, the heaviest and fattest truck there out of the 5 of us who ran the strip yesterday (tipping just over 900 kg including fatboy !) and I was 20 BHp down on power from the figure at VMax only a couple of months ago - I believe due to a change in actuator and an ignition issue on the day between 4000-4500 rpm as there is a major wobble on my RR trace.

Top job to Iain for organising and to snapper Matt - hats off guys.

And many thanks to MarkGT and Nick for the bacon butties.

I've sent a shot I took of Matt and Jim's first run of the day, side by side, to Jeff R to forward to Matt. Hopefully he might be able to use it.

Top cars for me were Paul S and his home brew 998 EFi turbo and Jimsters Binnie.

Thanks again lads. Stunning couple of days.

No doubt I'll be back for more, with more boooooost next time.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

I think hes hooked mate, and is very welocme on here, big up to you mate for running your car, as it looks and is at home in a show and shine, you get a big repect on here from me for using it as it should be. Top job mate.

Sorry sprocket, just could me when i was VERY tied, just get sick of people asking that, like any 5 port headed mini out there atm any way is running that power with out it!! and when you say yes have a used it they just go i see that's why, and make no thought that i've managed to get the car to hold together at these levels, as if no2 power is less of a stress then normal power without gas. If my blower was big enough like the 16v boys i wouldn't need to keep it turn on for the whole run lol.
