These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I noticed when i was taxing it the car shares the sam birthday with me, although it is slightly older than me.

first registered 23/09/60

its not up to any distances yet,

i'm working on the "real" engine,

the "test" engine has a rattly big end and uninspiring oil pressure, probably due to the 4 days of cranking it over with no oil pressure...

plus i think i'm going to ditch the LC1 for somthing else, it keeps throwing a spaz.

I too can confirm that the old girl is alive and kicking.

This really is an awesome car with some seriously clever thinking gone into it.

It's going to be silly fast when the 'proper' engine has found it's way in there.

And I couldn't think of someone who deserves it more.

Thanks for all of your over the past few weeks mate. I'd be in the deep (er) stuff without you mate.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

i bought ngk pmr8A but i will fit this head without turbo and my volumetric ration is less than 11 to one. so i think to fit pmr7A unless i find other choice. What's your point of view ? tks

the 9's are used on NA bike's so i reckon the 8s should be ok,

better to try the colder 8's then the 7's I reckon.

how do your plugs sit in the chamber?

Daniel from minisport sent me a mail in order to give news : head is nearly finished (i ordered 3 months ago). I saw your pics. I think i will need to do the same thing. About plugs, when the volumetric ratio is less than 12, we need indice under 8. I dunno for turbo engine. In my last 1380 cc engine i got more than 12 vr and 8 were great. For my next engine (i fit a 286, vr decrease and I think to fit other kind of plugs of course. Mike sold me a set of pmr8A but if i will try these ones, i think i will need to buy other kind... as CR7HS. I dunno, there are not a lot of mini owners who give details on their specs on web about 7 ports... you're the first ... and nothing else even if we can see a short sequence video (dailymotion)

just to show there are still things happening.....

the car is off the road at the moment due to the police PG9ing it due to the tyres sticking past the arches, si I now have a set of miglia arches to go on. haven't stuck them on yes due to the weather and having a poxy ear infection.

have done a partial dry build of the new bottom end, and the block is away for decking (50thou!)

below are some pics of the block, notice the billet crank :) and the cooper S mains studs.

You can use cooper S studs if you skim a tiny bit off the locating shank so they will go in with the dowels, and tak a bit off the ends so they screw into the block further. a cheaper alternative to ARP's *wink*

Good to see some progress, even though I've been taking up a lot of your time!

I take it that this is the 'proper' build and not the intermediary one?

proper for the moment! *happy*

but yes 1380, oiljets, ph2 cam, belt drive, carbon pushrods (probably), sc box, timkin drops, quaif diff. etc

yes crank is one of John K's "seconds", its the fucking tits! i'm almost tempted to get some rods to go with it.

how did you get over the keyway or have you not done that yet?

LOL I means some H section rods, (hurrys to check ebay just in case.....) rather than the 1300 heavyweight ones i have in there.

yep nic, i was convinced i'd be able to sweet talk the WPC, but she wasn't having any of it....

not sorted the keyway yet, still deciding on the flywheel arangement, possibly twin spring verto ala robert, i see it as the key way is only there to line the flywheel up, and should be doing no holding of the flywheel as long as the taper is doing its job, so i think it should be ok to mod the key washer only.

I'm sure the offset keyway is a throw back to when they marked TDC on the flywheel.

No reason for it these days.

Did you offer the WPC a slim panatella?
