Engine is progressing.

Timed the PH2 to 108.

Heads on roughly, yet to torque as i'm missing ARP washers on the studs.

Turbo *happy*

Ordered all my fittings for oil/water lines. Need to buy a flywheel for my RTS and it should be good to go.

MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

I was hoping to get one of those ebay jobbys but haven't seen them around for a while i've been using the MED verto in my current engine for a while so i'll probably just swap that out when i swap the engines over.

Not updated for some time.

Fitted megajolt to my current engine to play around with it.

Knocked 550g of my rear drums.

Fitted RTS to turbo engine with a lightened standard flywheel.

Made up an oil drain.

Went to Brands hatch retro cars track day. Really enjoyed it, car was fun on track. Found a few issues to sort.

I also managed to get second in highly modified at London to Brighton.

Planning to swap in over winter and carry out a few changes to save some weight on the front end.

Not to sure when though the 1380 now puts out a smidge over 100bhp and its driving very nice at the moment.

Took the car to LSMOC track day at goodwood. Was so much fun. Was nice to go round a track with some similar cars. Very happy with my driving and the car. I think i only had two people pass all day (supercharged k20 z car and a new cooper works).

The brakes took a hammering after getting them set up properly.

I did however have a duff alternator reg and killed the battery as i hadn't noticed.

I've made a few improvements.

Li-Ion battery, dropped 5.6kg from my Power V AMP race battery. It starts the car easily enough. I've bodged in a voltmeter to just to keep an eye on it.

Added a KAD ARB at 4.5kg total. Bit of a pain to fit as i had to move the tank but i hope it means i can soften up the rear and reduce body roll. Its a lovely bit of kit.

The KAD ARB designed to be fitted without a subframe?

I'll be wanting one for mine, but didnt think anything was off-shelf available for that.

Its there one that is designed to fit on a rear subframe/drum brakes but bolted straight to the boot floor with the load spread inside the boot. If you have room behind the battery box/closing panels (minus doesnt have closing panel) and a suitable strong area to bolt the brackets through there's no reason why it wouldn't fit.

The possible issues i have are that the bushes are further inbound on the bar, so could do with something to stop the bar moving across. Then just the flex in the boot floor, its pretty solid on the minus though.

KAD supplied me with a range of blades to choose from to make it easier, i've fitted the longest ones.

Ah fair enough. Thanks.

Not sure how well my boot floor would stand up to it (or what remains of it) as I have a pretty large cut out and aluminium centre riveted in place.

to prevent drift, how about getting some collars with grub screws, independent from the nylon blocks, secure them to the bar and prevent the bar sliding across either direction.

David.

I've got some bits to stop it drifting. Just some rubber with a jubilee. I think that's what most cars have.

Thanks for the idea though.

Oh what rear beam have you got in it?

They make ones to bolt to the beam itself. Maybe give them a call they're very helpful.

Warwick.

I have the mini spares beam (but might swap it out to the KAD one as its about 12mm thinner, so be able to bring the wheel base back in a touch more)

And thats my boot floor, can see how its close to either edge and at the rear. Not sure how well something would mount around that area, even with spread plates.
A beam mounted ARB would be perfect, keep the rear end free and allow me to mount up my diffuser neater without encroaching with its mounts. Maybe if it was on the ouside face of the KAD beam or something, doubt they have anything designed up there. I'll have to give them a shout when I get round to it.

David.

My MITP went well with this lol.

Thanks to everyone for giving me a hand. Especially Simon for his tools and Oli for cracking the hub nuts etc.

I've taken it apart again and rebuilt it with a new cv.

Is that a "new" CV or from a time when they made them by the tens of thousands?
