Theres alot of weight to come out of a grille i think :)
had a few days on the car over the past week, dropping it off tomorrow and is having all geometry and suspension set up and weighed which im looking forward to. and mot saturday morning so heres hoping the wethers half decent!
couple pics .. not much

much needed clean

the wheels that were on the front were coroded and nasty so used autosol and a cloth polishing thing that went in my drill .. worked a treat and took 10 mins each side

and changed these heavy old things for some new ally protechs

next update ill know how much the car weighs ... cant wait

What's your target for loss then?

Are the old shocks and springs for sale super cheap?

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I worked it out to be about 540kgs before, and I know ive knocked 30kgs off soo far, with a few other things yet to be weighed.

We have some new corner weight scales at work so as soon as its drivable I'll be weighing it (and corner weighting it too :) ).

What was yours on the last weigh in?

Have you thought of a good way to lighten the door handles? Ive done all of the locks etc and saved just under 1kg but the handle itself I have no idea?

mine was 540 before lol should be about the same mate
i had thought to lighten the handles from the back hollowing them out and just leaving the 2 threaded bits to mount them..

Realised earlier that I need to replace both cv boots before my mot at 9 tomorrow morning so had a quick couple hours on the car after work

New boots and a cleaned all that awful cv grease off everything

All back together and fitted the lightened drive flanges

All ready for its mot.. Been 18 months since I got to drive it on the road!

Just passed its mot and was weighed on the brake rollers which I appreciate isn't going to be perfect but with the tester in the car (15 st) it weighed 530kg that's about 435 without him which I'm happy with anything sub 490 so *happy*
Cheeky photo

Cheers buddy :) not sure how true it is but the mot setups only a couple year old. Need to do a rear wheel bearing then it'll be corner weighted so can compare then.
Forgot how quick the old thing was!!!
