ok time for the dreaded update.

ive decided for many reasons to go for a honda engine conversion.

reasons are the cost in building an a series and also the upkeep.

When im finished the plan has always been to go to the nurburgring for a good couple of weeks to a month and abuse the and being honda it should be a lot more reliable.

so the plan is

b18c4 engine
allspeed conversion
ITBs
Nitrous oxide

and a lot of abuse.

so i guess im not really a turbo mini owner anymore.

Hi no pictures as yet, still trying to scrape the money together for the kit.

The one I'm going for is from an civic vti so not quite as much power as a type r still hoping for 200bhp.

Sorry the buscuits have already been sold on eBay, got a really good price for them too.

B18C4 is from the MB6 civic saloon, it's a really great engine to use in a mini, as it has a slightly taller final drive as standard (being from the more family orientated saloon model), and an LSD.

I think they're 180bhp standard, the B18C6 is the type R engine from the DC2 ITR.

I drove a clubby around combe a few years ago with a B18C4, and it's one of the most impressive engines I've ever driven, incredible acceleration, but much more refined and versatile than the C20XE minis I've driven. You could cruise around the paddock in 1st like it was a 998!

Its a shame not to go with an A series, but I can understand the theory with a Honda lump. Keep the good work up Andy.

cheers for popping that box over the other week jason, its all welded in the car now, looks much better than the one i had "modified"

Im cracking on well with the car, ive been going round the car doing al the little bits of welding that needed finishing off. I am also picking up a new steel roof skin courtesy of minispares VAT free day this weekend and JoeC has kindly lent me his spot welder to put it on with.

I have also got my Allspeed honda frame now so i am starting to build that up sowly.
