The gen mnispares copper ones seem to be best.
Ms did have a performance fibre version from aus but think these have dried up.
I have never have much luck with any of them. Even after having the block and head skimmed. 12g940, 11 studs and a cometic have done the job this time!

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I'm assuming what I got from minispares was genuine one! I'm sure my NA had a composite one when it went then we put a copper one on to get us back from IMM. Definitely putting ARPs in here haha!

use the ACL monotourqe one those silver ones are rubbish imo

http://www.classicmotoring.net.au/cmos/ind...products_id=837

wipe the head and block with acetone and handle the gasket by the edges trying not to touch the surface as its got something on it like out of the packet

do you use good studs? ARP or something

block and head flat?

I've just got the standard studs in there now, yeah the head and block are fine . I'd be devastated if the head needed even a light skim, took me ages to find a good one! I'll get a few of those gaskets shipped over to put on next time it goes or when the engine comes out, whichever comes first!

Paints pretty much done now apart from the roof! Got to see it today for the first time in decent day light because it's been so overcast recently! Got some pictures after giving him a quick wash to get rid of all of the dust :)

Thanks guys *happy*! I'm so glad with how it's come out considering it's all been done by ourselves. I'll have to get Carl to get some nice shots for me when we get a chance as those are just from my phone!

That paint looks amazing! What did you use to buff it? Mine had some orange peal so I rubbed back with wet and dry 2000 then tried to machine polish it. I still have some marks from the sand paper that won't buff out and I can't get it to shine up.

I wet sanded this from 1000 up to 3000, completely pooping myself when I first started doing it! I've used a few different methods to be honest, I used the megs microfibre pads with their correction compound which is a really good cut but I'm more comfortable using a 3inch pad even though it takes longer (for some reason I couldn't find the microfiber pads in anything other than 5inch!) So for most of the car I used Menzerna FG400 (claims to cut out 1200grit but I imagine it would take quite a few passes!) on a 3M green pad which also cuts really well. I then just used SF4000 to finish up! I'm a huge fan of the menzerna polishes to be honest :)

Thank you by the way *happy*

Not really haha, it's not that much work with a DA, it's the wet sanding that takes the most of the time! I've pulled my arm doing Carls windscreen on the pug last weekend though!

Carls answer would be the opposite to mine on that question! Sadly it doesn't come out of the gun that flat :(
