went down to slark yesterday, as usual the car was a complete bitch and didn't want to help any of us out what so ever, so much so she decided to develop a massive oil leak when you let off. Doesn't burn oil when accelerating just when you back off, Andy told me its probably valve guides/seals.

Anyway despite that, after a change of spark plugs from BPR7ES-11 to BP8ES the car ran and actually sounded like an engine instead of a tractor WOW what a difference, finally got the fueling near spot on and then it produced this power graph:

Neil told me that I needed to re-build the carb as the jet in it wasn't too clever plus I hadn't done it before, Sort out the oil burning and then run it in and go back to him for a final tune then it would be spot on *happy*

Awesome result! Car is so FAST it literally tears your face off at 3.5k pahaha anyway cannot recommend Slark Race Engineering enough such a nice atmosphere being there and Neil didnt stop all day. Definitely go there if you need anything doing, its worth the travelling!

Cylinder head is now off trying to figure out the oil leak, starting with the head, andy told me it was the valve guides/ seal as it only smokes when ot idles or when you back off the throttle, furthermore all my boost piping is still clean inside. The exh manifold is black as fook inside and it looks like i had a bit of an oil leak form the manifold head gasket aswell from the center exhaust outlet

So the cars now like this:

Pop your valves out and check for side to side play in the guides. Its most likely oil ending up in the hotside of the turbo getting burnt off

So I went over to Castle Coombe today for hte miniworld action day. Met apbellamy and John for the first time, had to leave early as I wanted to put my new seats in the mini:

Girlfriend bought me the seats and the seat subframes as an early 21st Birthday present :) I had the sparco harnesses lying around from when a friend offered me them both for £25 *happy*

Looks really cool Just cant wait to get my head back and for a drive in it! *happy*

if that bolt is staying there to block the red pipe off it might be worth getting one with a parallel shank and cutting off the thread.

Yeah alright bud will sort it :)

Its all to block the connections off. Ideally what I want is to cut the pipes off and have the holes tig welded up but this will do for now :)

Cheers bud!

So got the head back from slark, and changed the oil drain as it had a u bend in it.

Got the car running as you can see below, however after comming on boost there is still blue smoke *oh well*

Maybe turbo is fecked?

its proper rich throughout, as I havent had it tuned yet. Theres no oil in the boost pipes so Im guessing it may be left over oil in the turbo or that the exhaust side oil seals have gone.

Got it booked in for an MOT Today - It failed

Rear subframe was compared to "soggy cardboard"

Front Subframe PolyBushes are far too flexible

Hand Brake is garbage

SOOO

Orderd Solid front subframe mounts
Picking up a new rear subby from MadMK1 on Sat
Will look at the H brake Quadrants and all other components to find out why its shite as it pulls real hard on the lever by 3 clicks.

Thanks for reading

Check that your rear drums are adjusted properly. And while your there get somebody to jank on the lever so you can check that all the cables and quadrants are moving freely.
