New Seat arrived today. Good news, the special request for a lightweight shell saved 1kg. Weighting in at 7.25kg I'm happy with that.

Considering one of these but 550g compare to a fixed alloy boss at 206g.

I rarely take the wheel off mine as I can get in and out fairly easily without. Are you putting a modded steering column in to bring the wheel back to you? Q/R makes good security for 300g though! It would be a bitch trying to nick a car with no steering wheel.

I have the alloy boss at 206g then a raid release mech that weights about 450g that bolts to the boss.

I can either just run the alloy boss, or replace both with the weld on Omp item.
I need to decided ASAP, as I'm having the custom steering coloulmn made over the next couple of weeks and I need to decided where the final steering wheel postion will be.

Also looking at this, so quick release would be good.

Maybe abit too bling though.

Yep I would have to swap to the flat version Omp lightweight Steering wheel if I went down this route.

I'd keep the wheel you've got looks really nice! Is the summit system lighter than having the equivalent indicater stalks etc though?

428g for the summit system, but it means no indicator stalk, no viewable wires, no steering lock, no column cover, hidden igntion key & engine start button on steering wheel, as well and launch control. So yes I think there is a small saving.

Front subframe had prevously been lightened slightly. This time around a hope to strengthen it by fully seem welding it and stiffen it up by adding additional support bars and gussets.
The plan is then to remove weight to bring it back to 14.8kg.

I must admit, am playing it safe, and not going to sacrifice safety.

Managed to get most of it welded until I ran out a gas. Got some grinding and cleaning up to do.

Yes mate 4st 12lb (31kg) since Pod. Ive won slimmer of the month every month since I started.

I've opted for the wireless system, so the dished steeting wheel will be put on ebay I think. Or maybe put it on the clubby.

Thats amazing! U must look completely different! Any prize for slimmer of the month?lol, started my diet definitely now! Half a stone over last 2 or 3 weeks... with past diets ive given up but now its just to weigh less for the 1/4 mile im finding it fun! Weird... keep it up! All that weight lost from the mini and you will be interesting to see time wise!

Yep, I guess I do look slightly different. I'm still fat though. You win a free week for slimmer of the month. I'm quite competitive and competing with a guy at work. He's lost 5 1/2 stone in the same time, but he did start at 33st. The Women has lost about 1 1/2 St, but not taking it as serious.

Before (me on the left)

Now (recent)
