This car will put so many to shame when it's done and for a fraction of the cost

I've just wasted spent the last hour here at work (and now late going home) reading this..... Fantastic stuff and totally outta the box backyard engineering everyone should be proud of!
I only have an 1100 and was looking at the K conversion - but would love to know more on this too.
Good luck Robert with the rest of the build. Makes me realise how little expereience or knowledge I really have.

Top marks sir!

WELL!!!

LOOK what turned up down the yard ... oh yes ,a full saab aero trionic setup .

also i now have pistons thanks to niel the generous one ,rods thanks to joe .er. the other generous one ,....

just need a rebored block ,and we may be onto something ..

i also realized i can dyno test in 4th ,and not need a straight cut box .
not sure about the single pin diff though;-(

oooh progress!

IMO the diff will easily stand up for RRing its just the strip that will kill it, shock loads...

Excellent stuff. Sell the coil-pack thing on ebay and get enough money for a crosspin.

Keep it up.

wil, the coil pack thingy is responsible for detecting knock through ionic feedback, setting firing order position to the ecu ,and a full cdi ignition .think i may want to keep that .lol

Interesting stuff Robert, are you going to try and use the SAAB ECU and somehow alter the mapping in it to suit?

damn good point colin ,both you and neil contributed ,so i now have a choice of two different crown heights .very usefull with such a shallow chamber .:)

tom ,yes thats the idea .theres a whole raft of free trionic software stuff out there .and i really like the ion sensing knock reactivity .

Interesting stuff, is there a relatively easy way to get into the SAAB ECU and alter the map then? I know with some of the OE Magneti Marelli stuff its not that hard to edit the maps.

No wonder they are £300 then. They are pretty unreliable too. Also I don't know how you are planning fitting it, but I stripped my broken one down, when I had to replace it last year, and it would be verry difficult to use on an engine with different cylinder spacing. Anything is possible.

I too am interested in how you get on mapping a saab ecu.
