Agreed. Shame to ruin the best car in a long time by that hideous grille arrangement,

Looks fantastic.

Personally I would put a full grille on if you can fit it in. Big rads/intercoolers hanging out the front are not a good look.

I'll follow the trend...hide the grill up. :)

Yep have to agree, The grill needs sorting.
Can you not mod a standard item to keep it looking original.

Absolutely amazing car. I would love know where to even start when engineering something like this.

As for the grill, if it all colour coded (side sections painted black) then it. Should look really good.

Cant wait to see it all finished.

Right lads , opinions on the grill.

Managed to get the one from home and quickly had a look.
I would need to split it and space the center off from the rest, it will sit out from the front but i supose it covers the cooler.
I painted the side pic's black and it did look miles better but carnt find the pic.

Update time.

Not good news though lads.

Managed to get my sparky down today to finish the wiring off, so apart from the front headlights and rev counter its done.

Decided to try and fire it up, eventually it did fire but also sounded like it had a spare crank in there aswell as spitting oil out of the filter housing.

Realised the swifty oilfilter housing i have takes the metro gasket not mini so allthough i didnt have a metro gasket it was kinda problem solved, poped on the old housing and away we went again.

Finaly fired again with definitly a second crank in there, and not just noisey but very noisy.

Sowhats happend, well fook no's at the mo but the engine is now solid and wont turn over.

Managed to get it out but not sure when il have time to strip it.

Oh well everything happens for a reason.

Il keep you all updated on my findings.

The engine its self was built around 5 years ago, done 1800miles
The prob is its been stoor 4 years now, allthough i did keep turning it over every 6months.

The only things that have been messed with are, new quaife diff, and i decided to remove the flywheel to check the clutch but when i removerd the wock i found the flywheel bolt very loose.

il just have to see what i find.

fingers crossed just something flywheel/diff related causing the ceasing rather than an internal issue

Rick, Sorry to hear that mate. Your now in the same boat as me.:(

I've got mine out but not yet stripped it. It’s just to bloody cold at the moment.

But you have to use the negative, so mines getting a full refresh once it’s in bits.

Eat and be merry over Xmas then attack it in the New Year.
