The idle stepper setup can be a bit tricky.

I thought that mine was sticking, but I had not set the "Start" value high enough.

This needs to be high enough to fully retract the pintle when you turn on the ignition.

My stepper of a peugeot needs 360 steps to fully retract the pintle.

The "Start" value is steps opening. All the other values are steps closing. Can be a bit confusing to start with.

I need to tweak Megatune to allow me to close my stepper by 360 steps. It's currently limited to 300 so air is always flowing through the idle valve.

Indeed,

I only started getting my head around it properly yesterday,

aparently 0 steps is fully open, i thought it was fully closed (read it somwhere) so due to that i must have wired the stepper back to front.

the annoying thing is it has been working on closed loop but intermitantly, but i'm sure i read that the code is not 100% reliable for that yet.

I am going to ditch the dodgy home made adaptor between the stepper and cavalier TB as I have found that a fiesta one should bolt straight on.

finally got an idle valve that will work, full travel is 222 steps (for my future reference lol)

also putting the dash together now, works style with touch screen, and lots of chavy gauges that i'll fit tomorow.

Fuckety fuck....

My LC1 has died *angry*

No idea why, it just started sitting at fully rich in megatune, checked the outputs with a meter and theres 0-0.6v on the WB output instead of 0-5v

still on the bright side the turbo seems to start making boost when you rev the engine with no load, enough to blow of the pipes i had pushed on.

dunno,

I have no way of connecting to the serial at the moment, I have 2 tempremental usb cables, one worked on my laptop, but i lost the drivers and cant get it working again, so I'm using my bro's laptop, trouble is all the inovate software is on my laptop and the inovate disc is screwed...

I have had a google round and aparently the analog outputs are a little delicate, if you short them they will die, I mam positive i havent shorted them though, I've stuck in a narrowband but either megatune or the ecu dosent want to seem it so i have the narroband on a multimeeter at the moment, I'm wondering if the O" input has died on the ecu and taken the LC1 with it....

Well,

been for a drive today!

seems to corner and stop ok considering the geometry is bollocks.

no boost yet as i'm waiting for spme hoses to turn up so i had chavs looking to see what the horrendous wooshing was lol.

discovered a bit of an issue, horrendous clutch slip.... resulting is a top speed of about 50 *Punch*

still, i'll limp out and get some tyres tomorow and take it for mot.

dunno,

if i can get it taxed mot'd and insured and pull the flywheel and my boost hoses turn up then i can spend sat maping the thing (which will mean teaching th mrs to drive megatune LOL) then yes.

bit miffed about the clutch tho, I'm sure it is the same assy that came off the car when i stripped it (several years ago...) which was ok at the time.

just got the clutch out, a little bit oily and about half worn, I have a new one to chuck in so will do that, also i have taken a bit off the lugs to give a bit more clamping, strangely the pressure plate looks uprated, it has the extra tangs inside, it has a part no on it so ill check that out.

jesus all day to change a clutch....

I think i know what hte problem was....

me being a clever cunt added so extra straps when I put it together, this stole some clamping pressure, and along with a bit of oil an me slipping the clutch getting it in and out of the garage has made it slippy...

also went to put my spare plate in to find its a 190mm injection one *tired* I just turned the fucker down and slapped it in, YeeHaa!

straight away it has loads more bite.

Oh and it was an orange cover, I didnt think they had the extra tangs?
