Glad I was wrong then. Thought I should mention it before it was far too late. Keep up the good work :)

Yeah I appreciate it mate, could still be sorted quite easily if I had got it wrong. Better now than after the final colour goes on

Well I suppose its time for an update, life has been getting in the way as usual. Me and the misses got engaged in May and my brother left for Australia so a full month of parties meant no time for the mini.

Cracked on with the bodywork in June and got the drivers side finished up to the swage line. So just a few bits around the pillars and roof to do and finally it will all be finished.

It went back on the spit a couple of weeks ago for a full coat of epoxy, seam seal and stonechip which I finished tonight. Will buy my paint now and get some colour on.

Cheers

Looking excellent, you could have practiced on a spare piece of steel, instead of your arm though!

Cheers lads. It certainly helps hearing comments like these after spending hours wet flatting primer. Might be a bit ambitious due to my slow work rate but I would like it all painted before Christmas

Edit: I certainly dont envy you Paul with all you flatting around the cage

I was unsure of the colour at first dave, was surprised how much green there is in it but I think it will be OK once outside in proper light.

Finally got some paint on it! Knocked up a basic booth on Thursday then painted it today. A few bits of dust manged to find their way in but for a first attempt in a dodgy booth its not too bad.

An old gazebo and some masking film did the job

The pictures aren't great as the gazebooth was in the way

Flat and polish tomorrow then on to the doors bonnet and bootlid in the week.

Cheers Callum

Flatted the whole car today and polished a few areas by hand that I can't get in with the mop. Then just had time to run the mop over the quarter panel. Im going to have to repaint the quarter anyway as Im not happy with some of it, so it was a good place to practice with the machine polisher.

Some black dirt or paint has managed to get into the very first coat so if i carry on trying to flat it out im going to break into the primer. Frustrating but a lesson learnt, will be more thorough with the cleaning next time.
