Well the mini managed to make it all the way to castle combe, do 2 track sessions and home without the HGF as it usually does.

They were tapered, think it's just the camera angle.

Lovely car mate! I'm building a turbo, but also have a weber box (changed my mind to go turbo shortly after welding it in and getting a respray!). I was wondering if you have any pics of how your wiring loom goes through the bulkhead? |

Seems that rr mini has once again decided to throw the towel in and kill a head gasket on track after being battered for a good 20min at Castle Combe.

Suss the fault Lee and get it back together, got to be a reason why it eats gaskets.

Managed to slide the old gasket out at event and put in a spare one as a quick fix to get it home but looks like it may have damaged the head or block as still run rough. Time to pull the engine again and investigate more as well as fix he crunching 2nd gear. Well it must be time for some upgrades, or as everyone has said ditch the turbo and go back tot Weber. Can’t see it happening but let’s see the damage first. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I'd start by taking at least 2 degrees out of ignition timing across the board. Engines don't just knock at full throttle 😉 On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

No way running 22deg of adv will you pop a gasket, I suspect your TDC reference is not where you really think it is - or there is it an honest mechanical issue causing this. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I remember hearing once about a harmonic that had the "teeth" machined into it, ran badly because the outer ring had "slipped" - never heard it happening since, and can't recall who it was - but it was a member on here I'm sure... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:
