I know it's doing my head in, shame the piston choices are limited on the 998 esp at +80...
I'm hopeful that it's going to be much better

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Ok so it started, I let it get warm and get open the heater tap with the rad cap off to get all of the bubbles out...

Let the fan kick in and then let it cool.

I check the torque settings on all of the head nuts and they needed maybe 1/8 or less of a turn.
So I hope this means its all sorted this time....... back to some road testing... if not I don't know what to do...

Ok I shelled out a load of cash and got a spanking new SD cage, it seemed to require that both sets of legs need pulling together to get the rear cage in?

Is that what everyone else does?

Yes. Use a ratchet strap. Just watch your back windows/hands when you release it.

Agreed with phil. I then found I needed to use a body press to then very slightly push the feet apart to get them lined up nicely on the rear arches.
It's a cringe worthy job when you don't want to scratch paint but worth it in the end.

Same issues as above, mine was an absolute bastard to get it! Wouldn't be in a rush to do another!

Thanks guys with a couple of straps and the help of the wife it slipped in.

Everything has been bolted together loosely and then left, ready for me to find my balls and drill holes in the shell....

Again with the ratchet strap, complete ballache! I just got in and pushed it out with my leg whilst someone else marked out the holes and slid a bolt through into said holes.

TBH pushing them out isn't an issue as I have the harness bar that helps push them back into shape... I did give it some of the said leg action first..

drilling the holes next... their is no going back then :)

Well all of the holes are drilled the thing is bolted in...

So far I have had to move the seats a little.

Modify them so the that the belts can pass through.

Fit the some extensions to the wiper and lights switches.

I have fitted a wide angle mirror to the cage so I can actually see out of the back of the car.

Oh and then I went and got the car a new ticket, so I can drive it for 12 months..

I was great fun driving it back, I could do with putting a few more miles on it just to get used to everything ready for Combe...

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

here you go colin.. The are a bitch to do in terms of being scared to cut the leather...

I made up a card template and used diamond tile cutters for the curves and used a Dremil for the straight lines...

Then had to find some balls to cut the leather... the have a small crease but I was happ with the end result.

I coloured the material section in black and they look better..

Oh and with the efi I managed 31mpg up from 25...

That map does need some more work as it has some strange idle ignition figures...

ok the engine will be plucked from the hole tomorrow and then sent down the machine shop for some work....

Our very own Turbo-Phil is working on a new head....

And then on to some new injection...

and hopefully a more reliable head gasket..
