OOH, now theres a thought

If, we take into consideration the curvature of the earth, and the track is suposed to be FLAT, then of course there will be either a rise or fall in relation to the other end of the track *laughing*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Ho ho ho would you believe, I calculated that if the track is FLAT, that the perceived incline would be circa 1.5 meters *laughing*

SERIOUSLY!!

No, the correct answer is

0.012542920293086902880267537538865m

or about 1/2 inch.

the diameter of the earth at the equator is 7926.28miles (not getting into the complexities of the misshap of the earth) hense the aproximation

I drew a circle in CAD of 7926.28mm then draw a straight line at a tangent of 0.25mm. The distance from the circumferance to the end of the tangent is aproximately 0.00091mm, so seeing as we are in miles, we need to convert to meters. 1609.344m x 0.00091 = 1.465 meters

Where have I gone wrong *oh well*

I used Pythagoras.

((((7926.28/2)^2)+(0.25^2))^0.5)-(7926.28/2)=7.8851617578263982666411109542429e-6 miles

or about 1/2 inch.

lol missed this earlier. If she propped the track on her head it would only be an incline of 4 foot 9. Don't thinlk it would be taller if she laid down it would not be more.how tall is 30F?

Calm down Nic. It's a program called Memory Map.

You can download it for free, but not legally.

Sproket,i think you have the decimal point in the wrong place as youve jumped from mm on your drawing to m in you calcs. That would make it 0.014m or 14mm.

Is it sad that i was temped to draw the same mock up in cad just to check? *hehe!*
