Well done lads. Is this going to be a wind it up till she goes bang engine, or are you going to settle for 15 psi?

We've only got a 1 BAR boost gauge so will prob just max that out if possible without blowing it up.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

The colling system is plumbed up and wired in.
With a good few turns on the mixture screw it runs nicely.
We've put a new relay in for the starter, so now we have control of when the starter runs
Some of the interior is back in and we've made a start butchering the dash for the gauges.

Feels like we're nearly there now.

looking good, really like the intercooler placement and piping, looks really neat being all on one side of the bay.

well... we've just been out and put new fluid through the brakes. While we had the van on axle stands and the wheels of, well... it was rude not to.... With a little 'loading' from the brakes... 0.6bar of boost The dump valve works

that was a good read but i did not think the colour tune could (should) be run under load :/

Had a custom braided hose made up for the clutch last week. We trimmed 7mm of the master cylinder's banjo bolt and fitted it.



With some fluid through it and a lot of adjustment the clutch works and it moves under it's own power again.

It's not good enough to drive yet, so we need to look into longer/adjustable rods for the slave cylinder to clutch arm.

I've used the pushrod from a brake master cylinder and it has given the bit of extra travel needed. I'm not sure if the same would work with a metro though.

Great project by the way, I've really enjoyed following it.

Where did you use the pushrod? In the clutch master cylinder?

Or you could heat up the arm and bend it a bit.

I don't think the mini arm would maake much difference on the metro as there is more clutch pedal travel than on a mini.

Woohoo! Thanks to carl putting a bend in the clutch arm and dismantling, cleaning & re-assembling the brand new slave cylinder we finally have a working clutch. Just need to get cracking re-assembling the thing now and get the megajolt plumbed in!

It's been a long time since we've done anything post worthy on the van. I put most of the interia back in the other week (Wifey is very pleased that there are no metro seats in the conservatory now).

Today we've been out and done my least favorite job - soldering. I was pleased to see that everything worked first time, which makes a change for me.

The result of this was the megajolt in, working and mapped. Good bye crappy distributor!

I had thought it would be a pain to get the megajolt wired up and working, but it wasn't it was litteraly join the wires and fire it up. For those who questioned the position of the CPS, I adjusted the bracket (with a hammer) and it now sits 4 degrees out. I'm happy enough with that. Maybe one day we'll get a Tom F bracket...

It's pretty much sorted now, just a few PITA jobs and then it can go for test at the end of the month and all being well be taxed on April 1st. I've typed it now, so I'm commited....
