bit of an update its been a while since i last did a decent one.

as usaul i have been working on loads of different bits of the build at once.

ive got all my inlet pipes that i need from the turbo through the ic to the plenum, the plenum is designed now but i need to get on a machine to make it.

ive got my water swirl pot made up now and also all the hardline i need to get the water to the boot, just need to buy the samco bends.

i have finallly got round to fitting my new seats and welding in new seat frames into the shell.

machined back my S steering arms so the fit with the KAD discs.

ive got some vents made up to fill the holes in the body.

ive re-located my washer bottle from the boot to the inner wing.

i have sanded back the diffuser and neatened off the edges and also started fitting my arches, i bought some neat little brackets off ebay to do this.

ive finsihed welding in my rear ARB brackets, just need to neaten up the holes through the shell and make some spacers to make the angle of the drop links a bit better.

ive got the fuel swirl pot rolled just need the dash fittings welded on and ive ordered ally for the petrol tank and radiator cowling.

I think ive got the bends i need for the manifold and external wategate, and the flange and first 4 outlet pipes are at the fabricators being welded this week.

so its all coming on nicely with my limited funds, i got a few quid for my birthday the other day to spend on it which helps but its still slow going!

heres a few pictures

Looking good, really liking the rear ARB, where did you get it from?

I see you haven't started to weld up the holes where the rollcage goes through the bulk head, it's a pig of a job, have fun.

the ARB is all home made.

yeah I'm sure it's going to be a pain I've made some templates for what I need I just need to cut them out on the band saw.

yeah it took a while to get it right but its there now, ive got to cut a hole in it somewhere now for the exhaust! theres only going to be a 1/2 of what i started with!! lol.

just been over to mini13 to observe some er repair work and collect some 2.5" s/s bits for the exhaust so im having a play with them at the moment.

ahh cheers for that Ben, i know there was a few people on here interested in the results of that session so it will be interesting to see the outcome.

be nice to see some results for it so i can tell people it works and doesnt just 'look pretty'

ive been trying to think of ways around not having the exhaust coming through the diffuser but it kind of dominates the back end of the car. lol so for now thats the plan.

Why have it going to the back at all? Could run a pipe sideways off the turbo, inline through a silencer and out through the wing. just a thought :)

everything seams to be holding together ok, although I have just cut another 1" off my bulkhead so I can fit my manifold and wastegate in.

I'm ok for welding Jason, need more bits for the metro?

it is possible I could it's very tight with the diffuser on there.

i think my only option is out the diffuser, but I don't think it will affect it too much. it's also the easy/cheap option staight pipe is cheaper than bends!

leeds/wakefield.

Andy how about usung a 90 bend and going out the bott of the diffuser with the bend exiting rearwards, it would only need a a 60mm hole, and you'd only have a small amount of tail pipe exiting
