blimey you shoud have said, i'll build it for you. I built mine 2 years ago, have thrashed the bollocks off it for 2 years and only ever had a couple of gearbox probs, the usual broken synchro's and a snapped tooth. Other than that I've never touched the top half of the engine. |

yes - tis a headache shimming up, lots of hours checking, measuring and re-checking and deciding which way to go! - how are the kad heads shimmed? - had to have top hat lash caps made for the tops of the valves on the bimmer If Carling made Mini engines

Well been out on the road for a little bit tonight to make sure all the ecu sensors/mapping is working. Goes really well on the "base" map I'm running on - high powered K series cal! really smooth with a good old thump from 3500rpm. the wideband lambda on closed loop is great - you could hear the idle quality change as it "learnt" what was required -rolling road next week - fingers crossed! If Carling made Mini engines

thanks Jimster - likewise with your car! - oh yes the bonnet does clear the cam cover now (raised front dzus fixings by 5mm on their mounting plates)- no cut out needed - though I will need to "relieve" the front of the bonnet to feed the throttle bodies - ah well If Carling made Mini engines

Vegar - if you can find a 16v K head, possibly a whole bike/engine or head can be picked up for around £250 - which should include the cams/inj throttle bodies etc. - finding ones the hard part! If Carling made Mini engines

Jeah, I know. Been looking for a K head for a long time. I guess BMW dont sell that many a year, and they dont crash as much as R-bikes... www.shag.no |
