Axel - trouble with that is that when you inject the fuel in the 360 degrees that 3/4 are doing the sucking, then the fuel you're throwing into the 1/2 side might end up getting sucked across.
I'd do the injector bungs trick, but try mounting them on top of the turbo intake - basically replacing the 'roof' of each runner, such that the fuel would have to positivly change direction (and go uphill) in order to make it to the other side of the intake.

Hmmm, does that make sense? Not described it too well!

Ok, i hear what youre saying but when 3/4 are sucking, the valves at 1/2 are closed and there will be no air flow to take the fuel across to 3/4.

But I do agree that it would be better to go further down the manifold runner to eleminate the possibility of this occuring. The machining is goint to be a bit tricky, a bit more than i could do with my Black & Decker!

More apologies to Bat for thread jacking*smiley*

Ah, stuff him...

LOL!

Yeah - whilst there is in theory zero airflow - who knows what magic vortices are created...
Also, if there is a vacuum on one side of a chamber, and not another, won't whatever leaves the injector not want to head towards the vacuum - especially if it's flowing aswell?

I'm suggesting this becuase I've got a turbo intake with the bosses welded in as you first described.

Bit of History: When i first did my mini injection using Weber Alpha back in '98 (?) I used the MPi intake and a turbo exhaust manifold made from an LCB (The standard turbo ex. manifold won't fit under a MPi intake).

After probs with the crappy ex. manifold, I wanted to swap to the cast one again, so welded injector bungs into the back of the turbo inlet. Nothing else changed.
On the same injection system - HC's went through the roof for the same power and boost.

As it was a '70 I didn't really care - but that was the only change - and it made a big difference.

Poor pussy, hope he gets better soon,

Dave,
So scarp the idea of using the turbo inlet manifold. I dont think we can move the injectors far enough away from the carb flange. I suspect that although there isn't any flow there are pressure waves that move the fuel into the flow stream.

This explains why the MPi manifold has such long runners. Rover would not have made them as long as that unless they had too.

It looks like the only viable option is to make a custom manifold. I can now see how your proposed design with the long curly runners and large plenum has evolved.

I've seen from a previous thread that you are planning on using ally and a TIG welder. Is there any reason, other than weight, why I couldn't MIG a steel manifold together?

Not really... Weight only methinks.
