Apart from the ongoing work on the ‘77 clubman shell, I am waiting to get out and about in the “coupe” to get some miles on it, before getting it back on the dyno.

Since the last dyno session on 13th Sept last year, I’ve sorted out the valve springs so that they are all shimmed to the same fitted height, but it’s only done 16 miles since getting it back on the road in October.

At this rate, the engine might be in the rebuilt clubman shell before I get a chance to get back up to see Robert.

Also, I have got the variable length runners anodised now and the Carbon fibre plenum almost ready for testing.
However, I’m not pushing forward with that presently because the clubman rebuild is more important at the moment, so that I have a mini useable in all weathers.
Also, seeing as flow testing is the next step with the new plenum, it’s not like that’s going to happen in the short term. So it’s just a case of when I get a few spare minutes, I can work a bit more on the Arduino side of things for the motor control.

is that one of those swanky pants minispares evolution gear sets or just an A Plus set?

I've only just rebuilt the engine back onto the gearbox and doing moderate road mapping. I reckon 150lbft so far as even on 12psi shes faster than any of the previous versions of this engine! I intend to run around 170lbft through it when all is mapped properly *happy*

Somewhere around Swindon

Broke my Patella at the end of feb so will be on crutches until around July as I was quite a bad one.

Been doing little bits here and there, I now own a mk1 riley elf. I did loose interest in the mini but it seems a bit daft not to sort it out when I have 75% of the parts.

I've been busier than normal working from home resulted in longer hours than I would have normally put in .... Mainly due to the distraction of 9,6,and 2 years while mums out on the front line. Managed to refurbish and fit the from subframe finishing touches to engine. turbo oil and water feeds. Assembled new 7.5 disc setup. Refurbished wok and built RTS and found somewhere open to balance it. Intercooler dry fitted gathered more parts for turbo plumbing vacums, prepared rear radius arms for rebuild .......

Bloody hell when I write it down I've achieved quite a bit ....

Pat on the back for me 😁

I got the mini MOTd just before lockdown. Back on the road after 4 years. I’m just working through some small niggles with the fueling and suspension setup.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Just about to pick up my 1460 turbo motor from SMMC after a refresh and a few upgrades including a newly built up RTS clutch from Simon.
Looking forward to fitting the SC injection kit to it that I have.
Then it's back to the trackdays.

Great thread Phil 👍. Thanks

well, ive not managed too much as i've had to try working from home while being teacher while the wife is out working. Started building up parts for the forth coming Metro build though and ticked off a load of bits on the DIY at home which will let me get on with car stuff when I do get out.

Build thread to follow soon

Car got trashed in 2013. Started a new build to exactly the same template but that stalled . Got all the parts to build it just came to a unexpected junction do I stay all steel body or embark on a composite build with cage. The engine deserves the latter got a plate type diff that deserves the latter and those shiny spit rims don't want the weight. But I'm getting old and spend most my free time sleeping😂

It has become impossible to drive in a straight line again. So must be doing well.

Alrighty fellas!

I'm still around, but not done much to the mini in the past 18 months. I've been working too many hours yet again instead of spending time on my own things. The Corona has (instead of giving me more time) has increased my workload again however, but another week or so, and that should reduce me back to 40 hrs/week.
Also been working on the GFs house (concrete foundation shoring - ugh), and my SD1 racecar, and prepping what will be my next daily driver car for (hopefully) the next 10 years.

Back to the mini - Here's what the next plans are:
Install smaller TB from Fiesta to replace the VW unit currently fitted which should help pretty much everywhere.
Install Electric water pump controller and CWA-100 pump: https://tecomotive.com/store/en/tinycwa/tecomotive-tinycwa
Drive the pants off it in 2020
Then change back to the GT20 over the winter and get it on a RR.

This is it right now, satin between Rover SD1 heaven/hell:

First time back on here for a long time, mostly due to mini being a pain (not head gasket related *Clapping*) more to blowing it up at Combe in 2010 then spinning a reverse bush 7 Miles after rebuilding, PLUS now working abroad again.

Son the last month before covid got some motivation back and it snowballed into a compete strip down to a rolling body, now all set to go for pain fingers crossed in 2 weeks, making all the changes I’ve been saying for years. (Tubbed, stripped out with digidash, oil cooler, oil catch can and the list goes on)

Will get a few pictures

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

Good effort. Plenty of folk still plugging away at projects on here it seems.

I’ve just bought another Mini as well last week! A lovely little 30 which will probably be kept looking totally standard but am going to try and turbo it once as it’s about time I turbo’d something after lurking on here for years n years! Drives and smells just like my first car, I had forgotten how much fun a standard mini can be! Here’s a pic of my pair together. Can’t wait for the bit for the 16v to arrive now!

A red hot on an F plate isn't something you see often! I like it a lot, what's the badge on the wing?

It’s a Janspeed sticker. The car was sent to Janspeed on purchase back in 88 to have a few upgrades done😁😁. Sadly not a turbo conversion but the suspension set up and 1293 that’s in it make it a really nice car..
