Haven't had 5 mins to spare recently.

Heres a mock up of the front end. Lots to modify here

Had a good day today. Managed to get my inner sills all sorted.

Then moved onto the inner wings. Nothing really to see on that part, there's alot of fettling and tweaking before I can finally them welded on. Got to blank up all the unnecessary holes, and make some shock mount related modifications.

Looks really good but are you allowed that many holes in inner sills?

Been cracking in this weekend. Inner wings are now on, smoothed the bulkhead and got the scuttle tacked up. Just got to offer the front up before fully welding it up.

Progress seems decent now.

Anymore progress?

Im wondering surely the bottom of the flitches have to be modified/shortened for the floor lift/bodyshell drop? Or have you lost this material from the top of the flitches?

Not had any progress unfortunately dave. I had to have the engine out my rs6 for some maintenance and I'm currently in the middle of doing another bus for someone.

But yes your absolutely right. It will be lost off the bottom and reshaped into the floor

Had more distractions over the last couple of months.

Firstly was the rs that needed some routine maintenance along with loud pipes in the form of full miltek and de-cats.

Then I've built another bus for someone. Turned up to me fresh from cali looking all tired and high. So naturally it had to be slammed.

Finally this evening got back on with the mini. Only had an hour or so which I dedicated to the a panels. Now there on I'm going to turn my attention to getting the wings and front panel back on fully before returning to the rear end.

Few more hours this afternoon basically resulted in a massive step backwards. Was never entirely happy with the rear end. So I cut it out to redo it.

Quick picture of the front end too. Can see how high the subframe now sits.

And some of the rear end. Started building the new tubs, turrets and harness bar. Will fit the tubs tomorrow to the sides

Looking good, what gauge metal have you used for the inner arches ?

I don't hang around once I get going. Just takes some time to get going.

It's 1.2 mm with 3mm for the top half of the turret and shock mount.

The bar is for my harness and with be completely tied into the cage

I'm doing the same, having the tube which goes between the 'turrets' to double as a harness bar, but I don't currently plan on a roll hoop or cage so the lateral bar will help a little to tie the 'turrets' together

Some more progress tonight. Had to cut the harness bar off and weld the tubs in as there was a slight twist from doing it on the bench. Job sorted now just got to refit the bar at the end.

Also got to trim the carbon floor as I don't need the curve in the sides.

Far happier with the results this time round.

Check the radius arms for clearance to the boot floor, I went full flat rear bench and boot floor on mine and ended up having to relieve the panels in the end
