Correct me if im wrong. But i thought the bmw superchargers aren't designed to have fuel flow through them. I know the toyota Sc12 charger dont like fuel through them because of the tefon rotors. I agree with some of you guys its pretty hard to watch the two of them sometimes. I just hates how he bangs on about it being a JDM spec mini like now he's the only one that owns one.

not sure on the blower being able to take fuel or not
i can say that the carb and manifold get condensation on them on really quickly even on a hot start they both get really cold to the touch the ethanol fuel has a far grater cooling affect than ULP

i think they did well for a stock head but cant believe they chickened out and reduced the boost from the 15pound

"too much boost" what a weird end to the series.

I've had mine on since about 2007 and the rotors look fine, agreed it's not a daily. Is it the fuel or the heat that affects the rotors? Maybe if I did more miles it might be an issue, but it's not one that would stop me from installing a kit.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

63ish BHP standard + 54% gives 97 BHP at a cost of £4k in parts alone - OUCH!!!

Shaving a spanner down when the just needed to unscrew the regulator dial, WTF? Too many other cringe moments.

15psi may be too much if you take into account 10:1 CR and the need to run on 98 regular fuel time to time

taking it down 10psi and still geting around 100bhp as a safe way to do it is fine by me, also mind you there are no mods to either gearbox or differential

Wouldn't have been too hard to have some meat taken out the head to drop the compression ratio a bit. Surprised they didn't use a decomp plate

Are we taking bets on how long it'll take for the diff pin to shit itself then? *tongue*

That aside, I'm a big fan of the show, and the two of them are much more tolerable than a lot of the american alternatives on youtube

I think their chemistry makes the show to be honest, this hasn't been their best project though.

It's just fun, the tripe of mods we all wanted to do as kids but never had the money.
I like it you need to watch it for what it is, if it's not for you don't watch it, or better still make your own.

Why do I have a vision of flat- capped TM'ers starting a YouTube show with the catch phrase of:

"Drill some more holes. Its bound to go faster...."

"After carefully lubricating the pin insert it firmly"

"didn't work? oh well we'll pull the engine...have it out in ten minutes..."

Etc.....

Nice video and good quick explanation of charge robbing. Although, given that manifold and no hint that they measured and compared inner and outer fueling, I doubt they could do anything about it except throw more fuel in.

I note he said it made less power than MCM claimed, about 40% power increase, so closer to 90bhp.

Swansea boyo!

It's certainly getting more people interested in supercharging. Probably because it looks like they got it up and running quite easily. I feel so sorry for the poor Haltech guy, he's so tall his knees are around his ears haha

They don't die, they just get faster!

Yeah, it would be interesting to see what the actual difference is.

Also, they didn't talk about it but I do hope they use 4 injection pulses per cycle (if the Haltech can do it?) because that's the only way you can get even close to a reasonable fuel distribution in a wet manifold setup. The mixing and heat from the supercharger should help in reducing wall wetting though. But that also depends on their "cooler" configuration; I have no idea what exactly is cooled or how.

I don't think most people realise how rich some of us Run these setups at full chat, I can tell you mine is a lot more than 12.5:1

All that work, they should have gone to see our turbo Phil whilst hey were over in the UK. A decent head would help the power😎

Would have definitely destroyed the standard diff then.

I ran a standard diff for 5 year that was put in the car back in 1969. I just never drove the car like a stole it. I also stayed away from emergency starts.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

a lot of what you can or can not get away with is down to the way its operated IMO
if your like me and have little mechanical sympathy given the correct circumstances you can put huge shock loads on things
for instance i pulled teeth of the crown wheel and pinion and twisted the axle in half on the 4x4
