How much will something like this cost? Also any chance of a 120mph one ?

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

If it helps, I have a pair of NOS 100 and 105mph 997 & 998 Cooper speedos that you could use as templates to copy if you don't have the originals.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

That's us Tom :)

Got back from the NEC last night, good show for us, loss of feedback in the new speedometer, people want a 'Letterbox' aperture for the screen, more like the originalto onlty show total, then toggle to show trip.

So what are you saying here exactly, because it's double dutch to me?

The mini was dropped off yesterday for the new speedo to be fitted so hopefully all goes well and ge will be back within a few days. Had a good look at the gauge while I was there and it really does feel great quality wise and most importantly looks sweeeeeeeeeet! Daves been very kind and is making me a 130mph one to test (a lot of people have been asking to have it over the 90mph). I'm doing plenty of driving next weekend so will be able to report back on how it performs and I'll get some pictures with my dash all back in one piece :)

It's one the screws direct into the gearbox and converts the signal at the gearbox end, and then just a wire to the unit from there, the same as sold by digital speedos I believe.

Be interesting to see what the sensor looks like as the digital speedos sensor doesnt look very robust. (An opinion only)

It's a digital speedo one, they managed to grab one while they were at the NEC classic car show.

okay Tom, all I want to show was the development of the speedometer and get some general feed back, there have been some great comments as the guys on here require higher speeds displayed and in the future what else could be displayed in the screen,

if you want I can put a thread up in the traders section

Will these be sold eventually so that they plug directly into the original loom

Don't know if I should answer you question..... There again it's a technical question which I am more than happy to answer as usual.

it won't plug directly into the existing loom, there is a small amount of electrical work, as we have been installing this gauge we have also been developing fitting instructions, mechanically the speedometer will fit directly into the binnacle and use the 2 screw fittings.

I presume it's 12v it's connected straight to the Koso digital dash that it was supplied with. No auxiliary power supply to it. They provided the loom for it.

On 25th Nov, 2015 Evil twin said:
just wondering was your connected directly to the 12v supply? The new speedo generates a 5v output to connect to this speed sensor.

just out of curiosity

Yeah, I believe they will be around the £350 mark, they are due for release Jan/Feb next year. Dave was saying earlier that digital speedos have already made an order for a bunch along with a few others.

I collected the mini this afternoon with the gauge all fitted, it does look really nice and as you'd expect it doesn't look out of place at all. You can barely notice the LED screen when it's off. I'll get some photos/videos of it in action over the weekend for anyone who is interested!
