im going to assume the ignition timing was being monitored / tweeked during the dyno runs, in which case the map signal not being present should have been extremely obvious

it could cause it to detonate like a barstard with no boost retard ,, that could make a weird power and mixture pattern , and also easily make a aluminium/cast iron mating dance in the cylinders , is the compression ok?

how was the dyno operator monitoring knock? was there a sensor on there ?

Yeah everything was being monitored. I can't be sure that this pipe has popped off during the dyno or after.

I guess the only way to test out if it was these little things causing the problems is to get it back on the rollers now.
