so i managed a little bit of cutting around on spare subframe then trying to get the engine to sit as far back as possible and central so both drive shafts will be the same length etc, so now im waiting on some metal and some different engine mounts. all this is just trying to make sure it fits in the mini bay with inner wings which it does. its just going to need a lot of reinforcing .....

it took a fair amount of cutting to get the driveshafts/ spiderjoints far enough back to be the same as the original pot joints.

the original front part of the subframe is not how it will be its just to give me a idea of where its all positioned in the car.

so this still gives me enough clearance around the rack.

it just shows how small the engine is, with a 5spd box it would be alott easier

Yeah I've taken measurements from my car but it gives me about 20mm clearance should be just enough with different engine mounts

Shropshire.

I would be tempted to use the 5 speed and save some more space and weight.

be very careful when messing about with the fuel system as these run silly high pressure... we have got over 200bhp out of one of these motors.

That thing looks really tall for a little engine.

So, probably a clubby-only fitment then?

Really looking forward to this. I'm putting the turbo from one into my van but the whole engine has to be the real deal.

Amazing, ever since these were released I thought these would be epic for a classic mini! Really want to see what happens with this *happy* I think 150bhp and all the mpg would be perfect for a daily mini

so finally got started on he first engine mount this week and should have the engine mounted by next week end
so this is the start base to build up from in tubular
this is where the front gear box mount will be the support on the side is just to hold all in position while the mounts being made so after this mount is finish a new pipe will be made up the sit a bit further away

and heres the mount nearly in obviously lots of reinforcing and bracing will be needed
aroud the plate it will be boxed in both sides and to the side
