I picked up my connector from VW and with a test fit to the coil, the locking mechanism seems weak. That could be the off-brand coil though. I realize that these are not made to connected/disconnected repeatedly.

I saw that they were looking for updated hardware info on MSEXTRA. It is great to see a draft so quickly.

I presume on your board, the pull-ups are included already and don't need to be added externally.

Rod,

That's correct.

Moreover, I have added buffer/driver circuits on all 4 channels to allow driving any low current coil with either a 5V or 12V signal. So even the COPs that can't be driven directly by the other MS boards due to their current requirements can be driven by my board without any external circuit. The only thing that may be required in extreme cases is a current limiting resistor (the circuit has its own over-current protection).

Mine just arrived to play with, coilpack only, won't have the connector(s) until next week but, yes, the connector housing on the coilpack is really poor.
Probably the worst non-gen item I've seen in a while.
The rest of it seems OK, just the connector plastic bit is totally out of shape and cracked in one corner.
I'm sure the connector (when I get it) will fit but, yes, poor quality.

I guess that's the difference between eBay and a VW main agent.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I really appreciate all the help and support for my project.
It is so easy to get distracted. Last weekend we picked up the car in the attachment so my wife can get back on the road. She has been very nice allowing me to experiment with her car, but I have been moving very slow!

And this weekend I am off to a track day with my sedan.

My connectors finally arrived from different parts of the world with all the pieces intact. The ones from the UK came first. Now I can get back to it
