mates mini has the 7.5 cooper setup with no servo.

Pedal is quite had but they work a treat, did take some getting us too though.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

'Gettin use too' does that mean gettin used to ya nort nippin up haha

I found the pedal very hard and needed some effort to get them to work BUT i was comparing them with modern car brakes as hadn't driven a mini for nearly 20 years

My mini has the servo with 7.9's and they work a treat.

Oh yh my othe mini has 8.4s with servo n will lock up n stop on the spot... i know some non servo ones can be bit scary but just wondered if its significantly worst goin down to 10s?

Attended the east anglia mini clubs 'bury to southwold run' for 'each' very impressive turn out! N was the first real mini thing myself n my friends from the club have done this year! Will try get a few pics up.. was a good run anyone else attend? Nice 'shakedown' for london 2 brighton next month EXCITED :)

Would my set up have a "boost cut" stylee feature?? I done london to brighton last weekend.. n me n my mate drove home well into the night didnt get home till early morning n because of the cool air at these times i was wondering if a 'pop' n a seconds hesitation could be because of this?? I have a nissan 200sx which has boost cut... does it sound like this or is it something else? Havent had chance to drive it since..

Anyone? :/

Unless you have a sophisticated method of controlling boost (electronic boost controller of some sort), no you won't have boost cut.

It's much more likely to be going lean.

Normally has a afr reading of approx 12/11 at that kind of speed, can be lower... but i dont know whatreading it was given at this time of hesitation as it was very early morning, could the cold air temperature play a part at all?

PLEASE HELP YOU CLEVER WIZARDS!! Just took the mini out for the first time since london to brighton and the same problem i mention about above ↑ happened twice?! It was in second goin from about 30 then nailin it! It goes like hell... then 'pop' with a slight holdback then goes like hell again.... i thought oh no! Held back in third till revs dropped then nailed it from about 50.. same happened? But then came up to a mile of bypass i have near my house and nailed it through all gears ALL FINE :) repeated back n forth up n down the said bypass racing lots of stuff through all kinds of speeds n slow acceleration and fast acceleration.. still all fine :) was probably out for roughly an hour and drove lovely apart from the two 'pops' all levels n readings spot on! Please help or have a guess at what you think this could be? Have I.M.M and mitp at pod comin up so would like to put my mind at rest.. many thanks in advance.. let the comments begin

Carb may need a rebuild or cleaning? I had it on my old n/a engine on choke where it would backfire through the carb and had to push through it, never happened when warm.

This was definitely warm and up to temp when it happened, and had been driving for hours when it happened at l2b
Will give it a clean tho!

Pretty sure its was normal around 12 but next time it pops i shall try my best to look at guage asap

Sounds like when mine was leaning off loads if you boot it hard.

AFR read around 16-17 when all power went and came back with foot let off

Will keep an eagle eye on the guage next time i take it out

its not boost cut, boost cut is when the ecu cuts the fuel ( and or spark) to prevent the turbo creating any more boost

without seeing your car when it does it its hard to say, im going to guess its something ignition related,
if you close the gap on the sparkplugs does it still do it?
does it smoke at the same time?
how stable is the crank sensor?
how close does the fan belt get to it?
a failed spark around peak torque usually points to a weak coil combined with too much plug gap

i found that at a specific rpm the fan belt vibrated enough to slap the crank sensor hard enough to knock it out of alinement with the 36-1 wheel
thaat gave me a huge pop cloud of black smoke and then was off again lol

Right for once the turbo mini wasn't centre of attention and another one of my minis got to have a turn in the spot light! now this lil white mini I brought a few months before I purchased the turbo mini and it got a lot of goodies after coming out of the paint shop cooper s brakes, 10' minilites and cobra classic style buckets BUT then the turbo was purchased and this lil white mini got put in one of my garages and I hate to say it but FORGOTTEN about!! that was until my girlfriends mum asked if she could use it for her wedding and that I be chauffeur!? (p.s my girlfriends mum gets mistaken for my girlfriends SISTER so does that count? )

VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

just a few pics of a local classic car show I went to with my club, gave the white mini to my mum so she could take it and I took the turbo... not a bad little show considering its just a little local charity event on a playing field
