If that's that bad, what's the rest of the engine like? *indifferent* Hats off to you though, at least you're going about it with the right spirit!

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

If you haven't already, take the head off and have a look at the pistons. I'd rather buy a new head gasket than get it in your car and find it is worse than you thought.

I did think about this after i had just painted it which was annoying haha. I do agree with you its best to check now.

Need to ask a favor from somebody close by, when it is time to time the cam in would anybody be up for helping me?
Not too keen on myself doing it.

Was Netherlands, now Philippines

For this reason i'm scared to buy a "rebuild" or should i say repainted engine.
Better build it yourself or get it from a reliable source......
Omg, I would be really pissed off and paid him a visit to come to a suitable compromise *wink*
Its a pitty that the seller is not replying to this thread, maybe he could explain this "supurb" engine building.

Anyhow, succes with the rebuild

I have also been stung by parts sold as 'recently refurbished' only to find they are utter shit with a fresh coat of paint. The problem with mine was that I had it in storage for a few months before looking at it so didn't have any ground to stand on unfortunately due to the amount of time I had it for.

Edit: Just to mention, it wasn't the same seller, but someone who I assumed would be trust worthy (not on this forum)

The idiot who built the engine was (forum name) Kappa on here and TMF.

To be honest you pay your money and you take your chance buying from people you haven't dealt with before, I trust most of the people on this forum, but you always have to be wary of the small few, as with anywhere. I've never had any problems buying off this forum from other members, and I hope nobody ever has a problem buying anything from me in the future. I like to be wholly honest about what I'm selling and when I have the money for something I no longer deem it my own, and send the item asap.

I'd be filing the key unless there is any obvious damage to the jetway in the crank

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I know this sounds obvious but the keyway only fits one way round, there's little in it but a mistake that could easily be made by someone reassembling, it could have chewed the edge of the washer slightly.

I got a new keyway and this one doesn't fit either.

I will check the crank incase he hammered it in causing damage.

Looks like the flywheel housing isn't a turbo one

The turbo 1st motion shaft bearing is too big

Took the head off to check the bores, look ok to me?

Is it worth me popping the pistons out to check the rings?

Going to order some conroe bolts tonight along with a few other little things

If it was me I would, as no one likes a fucked ring. Then you can sand all the over spray off and give it a Good clean out.

I have just seen this page for the first time OMG who ever build this was a right thunder Cunt.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Got the pistons out, all the rings look good.

Whats the best way to clean the piston tops up?

Dorking

New cam followers are fine with an old cam, its the other way round that should not be done.

Elbow grease for the pistons! A good solvent will help.
