Somewhere around Swindon

Will your son be able to insure this when he is 17 with the modifications you are doing?

If you read the thread you'll know it's not for when he is 17 bud, he weill be using it in sprint and hill when he's 12.

When he is 17 he can drive a bag of nails like the rest of us had too lol

Just needs about an inch taking off where it meets the scuttle panel mate but that's not a bad thing, seems to have been made over size just for this.

Yeah most of them are, owing to most minis are different and then panel changes over the years, or even dodgy panel changes haha. After having my front as it was before though, I'd keep metal A panels if you weren't intending to mate.

Good to hear, helps keep extra rigidity in the door posts, you'd be surprised how heavy the doors are as std. Keeping steel doors on mine but lightening them, fitting poly windows and electric windows because it works out a smidge lighter than the winders, and just because I'd rather have them really, no more trying to lean over in a harness to open the other window!

Why are you worried about saving grams of weight?

You'd be lucky if a kilo of wait saving would save you a second on track, weight saving in a road car is useless unless you're talking about changing complete panels because of adding weight.

I am fitting F/G panels because of the weight I am adding with cage, will possibly balance itself out.

I'm just trying not to add any extra weight than std, purely because as you said the cage is going in, and other things. I'm mainly relieving the doors so I can give the door hinge panels an easier life *tongue*

Update -

I have decided learning to weld on my drive way is a bad idea *crying*

So, my pal has a unit I have taken it to as I have run out room in all of mine *crying*

But he has a two post ramp too so got it off the floor today.

Pulled out my trailer...

Got to have a good luck at the floor and I walloped it with hammer to see what needed changing lol

So... it now also needs lol

Battery tray

Driver side floor pan front

Drivers side sill

Passenger side floor pan need plate

So not to bad!

We have decided to build our own cage also rather than a bolt in, we have do what we want with it then.

that's where she is gona live for a while now until I get more new panels and start on the welding.

Cheers

The fronts are great but you have to buy brace bara to go with them from inner wing to front of sub frame and they priced around £70 from what have seen.

Can make them your self from £10 worth or material and bolts, shocking some of the prices people want for parts.

Can anyone point me in best direction to buy panels online?

Picked all other panels up at mini fair.

I find minispares the best... I guess I am biased though cos it's on the way to work.

All the panels I brought from them were reasonable prices... Never had to pay p&p so was cheaper for me. They have a good website.

Just pop into minispares Oldbury mate, or theres M machine who I've heard good things from. Just ring up spares before you go so you don't waste your journey! Or ask Matt to pop over and pick it up so you know it's there.

Started removing rust also and cutting out not panels

If you need panels, m machine do the best quality ones from my experience.

Looks like you're cracking on with it!

Oh dear........

Another Mini on a two post lift pushing the floors in.

Please refrain from this routine, as you'll only be knocking it back out with a hammer each lift lol. Use the subframes *wink*

If it had an engine in, I may have agreed, but seeing as the shell near bare, you'll find your advice is wrong bud.
