That's the thing it's as 90ft/lb at 2.5k through to 5k, then falls off. I guess the 7 port head helps it hold power later.

I don't plan to rev past 5.5k with normal driving between 2-5k

Do you think MD246 will gain more bottom end over SW5.

Also where do you see the MD274 power band then.

yes that makes sense matt . i think as i said, i was focussing on the 2 to 5k usage band ,so trying to build up the 1k to 3k area as muh as possible , so it effectively drives like a supercharged engine as much as possible .
i cannot compare the cams until i am really comfy with those sw5 numbers , as i said , it seems very very short on duration in the specs.
its really much more usefull to have th 0.050''(or 1mm) lift numbers to compare for all these cams , it may be that swift have ground a really fast ramp on it , but it would be what ,226d at 50 thou normal ,so ramps would be 244-226=182=9degr which is just not feasable , 22d ramp is really pushing it .

m att , can you ask the dyno chap if there is an unsmoothed graph available? that one has a very smooth shape which may be because it has been averaged to make it smoother , a lot of the latest dynos do this ,and it tekes away a lot of the engineering design info . its normally an options box on the software .i like the least smoothing .i can show you some examples if you like .

From my knowledge of the SW5 cam I know it as a very fast ramp. So much so, cams don't last very long, especially with higher lift rockers. In all my engines with the SW5, they have been really Tappetty, the main reason I bought the 274.

Don't think I'll be able to get a none smooth graph. It was done at GG Motorsport, not at my usual place. I'm taking it back there with new engine to map it up without the turbo, then add the turbo after a few miles.

Old thread resurrection. I am doing exactly the same as the OP. What camshaft please for 7 port at low boost high compression. Preferably to run a 2.9
Thanks
