Ok well I put my engine in the other week expect for my clutch and flywheel as my RTS was being balanced.

Collected it from SEP at Kegworth on Friday and it must have been the most expensive balance ever at £70 but it's done in time for me to put it back in and fairly local.

Dropped it in today and bolted the end cover back on. Got the engine mounts bolted up too.

Got to replace a pot joint gaitor too so off to the motorfactors in the morning for that and a fan belt.

Hopefully have the majority of things done by the end of the week then I'll just be waiting on wiring and a down pipe.

What sort of air filters have people been using and do you go for the flexy samco style ducting for it or something else?

Got my engine mount on the side of the block today. Fitted my clutch slave cylinder. Had to bleed loads of fluid out to get it onto the arm probably due to the rts clutch??
With the rts in does it throw the shaft with the locking washers right out as I don't seem to remember it sticking out so far before. I will post a photo tomorrow if people are unclear.

I drilled a big 70mm hole in the n/s inner wing for the intercooler pipe work.

I'm also going to try and get to dph sport tomorrow as they are local in Swadlincote for an extra 45mm 45 degree bend. I think that should just about complete the pipe work for the turbo.

Where's the best place for mikalor clamps?

Andy

Need to get the fuel regulator on tomorrow and pipe up for a return.

Here's a couple of photos of yesterday's work. Also a surprise tape measure I found in the house.

That looks a neat ic setup, large too.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

It is big. Should allow for plenty of cooling. Not much room for an air filter though where do you think I could fit it?

I like the i/c pipes routed through the inner wing. good plan.

Personally I would stick the air filter on top of the wiper motor, behind the outlet hose from the turbo. If you can, duct some cool air to it as it's quite close to the radiator.

I would pipe it from the turbo into the wing and bring it back into the engine bay further down somewhere, possibly lower half, but obviously be aware of puddles!

I also like the intercooler plumbing through the wing, it looks neat. I get very envious of the space yous clubby owners have in the engine bay.

Yeah it's just the way the old wiring has been wired into the new stuff for the alternator etc it was pretty easy to do at the time. I'm getting the whole engine bay re wired as soon as the mechanicals are done so it might get removed!

Also has anyone had any problems getting an oil pressure gauge fitting onto the tee that comes with Minispares turbo oil feed? Mine barely goes on to the anodised tee and feels so tight. The end of the hose is still loose in the nut end. I tried calling them today but the guy I needed to talk to was busy and I didn't call back.

So I got my final pipe through. Just waiting on a dump valve my mum is picking up from work and then a nice order of bits to do the new fuel line.

Nice tidy install. The routing of the IC pipes seems to be much simplier and tidier with this plenum. How close will the dump valve be to the coil pack? Any chance of it hitting when the engine rocks?

Very neat looking install, keep up the good work.

I'm going to move the coil pack to the other side of the bulkhead and put the fuel pressure regulator in its place. It then works nicely with the positioning of the fuel lines and orientation on the regulator.

Done a little bit since last update everything in the engine bay is pretty much done. Gone to JR Fabrications near Hilton in derby for a downpipe and link pipe. They look very good and should do a sound job of making the parts I need.
I fitted my new corbeau sprint seat and still toying with the idea of getting a new harness for it.

Got the dump valve return in to the air pipe

Got a stack boost gauge and fitted it on my steering column next to the rev counter and fitted the aem wideband in eyeliner too.
Put the bleed valve in too but made a fatal error of drilling the dash before I found out the bottom dash rail was behind! >.<

Got my downpipe and a link pipe made up to connect to my back box. The work was done by JR Fabrications at Hilton in derby. If anyone wants work doing I'd definitely recommend them to anyone.

I only managed to get one picture down from the top but I will get some more from underneath next time I'm out.
