Thanks Andy, but I already have the manual. The kit came from lee missing the choke mechanism. I've try to get one from SC but it comes with the throttle body from AT. AT can supply one, when they do there next batch.

Tuning wise it's only the Typhoon 2, that builds a correction map. I've still tuned it using lambda, by holding solid state, then Page up & down for injector pulse width. I thought you would be able to go a drive, then come back, then apply correction and smooth map out.

Of course it as closed loop, which really does smooth out the drivability, but it's no replacement for a good map. The test is when you turn closed loop off.

One other points regarding this system. I didn't realise the Typhoon ECU doesn't have a self learn / correction map for lambda. This made base mapping a little more difficult, but generally found the software very user friendly.

It can do tuning based on the Lambda reading. It also has a connection for the standard choke cable next to the throttle. PM your email address if you haven't got the manual. I'm going to be connecting mine up soon.

Yeah I have been looking for a suitable boot but Trying to match the patina on the rest of the paint may be tricky so not sure what to do to be honest I don't like the carbon bonnet either :/

i'm afraid i havent got any pictures but i have been busy,
i purchased a med verto flywheel and a 1275 velo clutch off ebay and pinched one of taz's old knackered 998 ones and set about making an rts setup after much confusion as i didnt have spacers on either of the clutches i ripped appart, sprocket gave me some pointers (much appreciated) and i finally got it all bolted up. i feel slightly embarressed as sprockets clutch looked so good with its k nuts etc but i'd already started down the m8 cap head route so thats how i finished it,
anyway that along with my crank is at the machine shop with strict instructions to grind the crank to the upper limit or -020" and balance the whole kit and kaboodle hopefully by the new year i should have that lot back and some pictures to show you all.

also i removed my carbon bonnet and purchased a single skin fg mk1 bootlid and that lot is at the painters hes going to try and use celulose and get it flat looking like the rest of the car

so now i'm on the look out for some boot hinges maybe a mk1 boot handle and i'l need a nicely pitted number plate light any offers send em my way

progress has been alittle slow over christmas i wasnt feeling great so kept out of the cold garage, i had some slight oil pressure issues with my engine on slarks dyno so after measuring the crank (reasults on page 1) i had the crank re ground and balanced along with my pulley and new flywheel. I will also be replacing the oil pump and i was thinking about the force thrust mod i carried out and how i could adapt it slightly so as not to loose anymore oil pressure, then i was reading pinkys build thread and his oil squirter jets and i shamelessly stole his idea. i started with a 2mm hole drilled it out and tapped it to m4



i then took an m4 grub screw and drilled a 0.8mm hole down the middle of it on the lathe at work it was like trying to drill a hole with a pube! and the grub screw was quite hard but i got it through turning the lathe at full speed :/



so once the block it fully stripped down and cleaned i will glue this in slightly below the thrust level it will supply oil the the thrusts at great pressure and hopefully i wont have anymore oil pressure issues.

i also semi dry decked the engine i.e. just bunged up the holes in the block as i was reading some reports on this site and most people only have good things to say about doing it



please excuse the dirty block face its not been cleaned or scraped

taz also popped around to lend a hand with the megajolt wiring, him being my local 'expert' well he had a working loom to copy this is now fitted into the car and wrapped up neat




appart from that the rest of the engine is looking fine i will be putting my springs into the spring tester at work to see what spring pressures i can achieve with the singles and doubles at a simulated full lift inc rocker ratio, i made some spring seats/spacers for the latest bristol engine i'm doing



they need a seat as the heads are aluminium and i make the bottoms different thicknesses to achieve the desired spring pressures, i was thinking of knocking up something similar for the a series

i really need to get down to minispares and order the bearings gaskets and a pump soon!

Got some motivation of late and decided to turn some bits up for my semi dry deck, also Taz is doing the same so we both went in on some material drew up a rough drawing and well we came up with this



Also drilled the block and the takeoffs so I can bolt them in position, think the bolt holes may just need flashing off with an end mill so the cap heads fit flush, happy with today's efforts :)

I don't think the screamer being forwards will cause an issue

I have been doing some work honest, I have near enough built the engine just need to fit the rockers and torque the head down,

There is an rts in there which I made myself

Also I have bought a house so I'm having to commute to the mini every other weekend and work on it :( I also can't afford to have my bike on the road this year so it's had a clean and keeping it safe here :)

So only a small update really but hopefully within a few weeks I'll have the engine in and my deadline is retro rides show
