The jenveys are expensive, my x16xe setup was from SBD motorsport.

The x18xe1 will require a new inlet, been told to speak to Martin Bowyer @ Bowyer Developments.. i was hoping to use the 1600 but the inlet is different :(

I can always sell my SBD inlet to fund some of it.

I'm going to pull the R1 carbs on mine just to get it going then change to the jenveys and would love to fit a turbo in there. but we will see only time will tell.

Seems to be slow going at the moment, spent ages making and welding in a few repairs panels, some of them wont be seen but i really didn't want a patchwork quilt of a car so its taking a bit longer to get it looking stock.

This was a bit scary

Floor is now back in, im waiting on a new a-post and that will get fitted next before the inner wing goes back on, i might book it in for shot blasting before that job gets done though.

Following the fitting of the a-post the next job is to roll the car on its side and take the waxoyl stuff off the underside - any tips on rolling the shell?

cheers.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

When we rolled mine, we sat the shell on a trolley and then just tipped it onto a mattress. Dead easy with two of us.

Quick question, i need to fully remove that crappy a-post, the floor is now back in but will i need to brace the door aperture?

it looks like it will be ok - but thought i would ask for your views

thanks.

You shouldn't need to brace the shell. What you have left is hardly suporting it anyway. Just take some measurements of the door opening and check that it is the same when you out the new post in.

It looks like you're doing a thorough job!

Hi, quick update on this - im still here and still working on it all be it slowly! But im trying to pull my finger out and get this project moving forward.

so basically still attempting the body work, a few progress pics.

this was interesting..

but an easy fix

floor going in and inner wing prep

front end on - you can also see the bulkhead box for the gear shifter.

im just finishing a bit of body prep and will do an engine mock up before booking it in for paint.

Will update on the engine side soon, but I have a new manifold - having another inlet made.. and some new ITB's waiting for a mock up:)

Will be following this. If its anything like your other motor then should be a beauty when its done.

I got as far as I could with the body work.. Time for shotblasting and a trip to the paint shop.

The pictures actually make it look decent but in reality a lot of panels have needed to be replaced.. Following shotblasting I now need two rear quarters a door skin and boot skin.. The passenger door was "fixed" at some point, the lower half was just tacked on and filled over.

But all should be sorted very soon and ready for paint.

Thanks :) To be honest mate it's a 30+ year old car and wasn't bad for its age.

Floors and boot area were very good and needed minimal repair.

If I get it right I will end up with a show standard car with a nice amount of pace

I don't know as it's part of a prep / paint service.. But total cost isn't cheap!

when looking at your first pics of the body work, sprockets offer must have seemed a good option, but then to see the work you have put into the body you must be pleased, keep up the good work
