well its on wheels! so the welding of the floor and sill can start.
had a mare though, started on it this afternoon after work. got the subby in place with the tower bolts but the solid floor mounts would only fit on one side the other side was about 10mm out on the floor pan. *panic sets in* so off to minimine i went for all standard front subby mounts in hope they fitted and it wasnt my floor/bulkhead twisted....... and they did thank f**k. so i built up the rest of the subframe now with polyflex tower bushes and also bottom arm and tie bar bushes aswell so it should handle ok. just the front subby floor and front mounts in standard rubber.

thanks to the timely appearance by the sun after work today i made a start on the floor repair, just got the rest of the inner sill and the outer sill to do tomorrow, weather permitting.

I always admire the spirit of people who work outdoors and after work, specially doing the bodywork which I hate. Keep up the good work.

Nice work, that repair looks good. And i know what its like to work outdoors. :)

ive had another go at my head today, ive got two of the chambers some where near now i think, they do measure 28cc now just wondering if the shape is ok though.

drivers side floor and inner sill is all finished now, just waiting to get sill strengthener/jacking point before the outer sill goes on and the seat crossmember, couple of patches and then that will be the welding done. also quartered the front bumper today, ready for the chrome removal and a nice bit of satin black paint. it was far too twisted to be fitted as it was.

finally got my crossmember in, just need to do one patch on the passenger side floor and dress all the internal welds then paint, then the inside is finally ready to be built up

1972 998 TURBO SLEEPER

Got a bit more done this afternoon after work. I had already got my outer sill welded on before xmas, managed to pick up a pair of sun bleached forza bucket seats with frames for 40, going to give that spray dye a go, should help anyway. Picked up a wiring loom as well.
So today ive tried to get it a bit more water tight as the wind keeps blowing the cover off this week and everyday I had a nice puddle in the spare wheel well. Ive fitted the bootlid and seal, and all the glass and seals, and door seals, and for the first time it looks like a mini, with buying just a shell up untill today its never looked like a car. Also stripped the fromt hubs off ready to rebuild at the end of the month. Really happy with what ive got done in 3hrs, been a long day though.

well just got back from bingley with a pair of wheel bearings from apbellamy, so i can now rebuild my hubs as i bought the ball joints a while ago, got a rear valance and closing panels to finish of at the rear, also picked up a pair of a panels ready for when i fit the 2 piece fibre glass front that i got last week. just got to hope for some better weather now so i can get them on. hoping to have it mot'd with a standard engine in by himley. fingers crossed.

my shell and various parts will soon be up for sale, as ive now got a mini 30 on the road and will do this as a running project.
