Looks really nice. I love the pipework and what-not - all looks well planned.

Up to you, but I'd run it either above or below the solenoid just incase it gets crushed.

I'm sure it doesn't toch now, but I'm thinking if an engine steady bush was to wear and allow more movement?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Yeah deffo move that cable,

Mine is like that and its showing signs of chaffing, I'm gonna mov it when it goes back together, but on mine thjat cables only live when the starter is engaged, on yours is live all the time, if that chaffs through you'll probably loose the whole car befor you can get the battery disconnected!!!

mines like that so i run the cable through a solenoid on the block , so its only live on cranking . oh i also trimmed the fins back to clear and then siliconed a plastic sheild on the starter solenoid too lol.

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Looks great, but you can't come on here and finish your car in 6 weeks. It's just not the turbo minis way. It should have taken you at least 3 years to do all that!

Want some spares? I have 3x +20 18cc accralites new and unused plus 4 sets of rings still boxed. Plus one novelty ashtray in the shape of a +20 18cc accralite...

No reasonable offer refused...

If you or someone else has one to make a set I'd be interested too...

Good looking mini.. Just a question, is that an oil cooler you've plumbed into the heater take off/return? Do they flow well enough to not limit the water flow through the rad thus reducing cooling ability?

is it overly noisy without a silencer?

the oil cooler is fine, if oil can pass through then water is sure to as its much much thinner than oil.

and yes it is a tad noisy but imo it sounds great. can hear the turbo spinning away through it rele well

soo its all pretty much finnished now, running fairly well. took it up for a pre mot check up and all looks well. just had to fix a loose ball joint. my only problem is that ive got a weird clutch noise that needs solving.

and its sitting that low that it only just made it into the rollers haha

Hey, the twin coolers look cool at the front, but using an oil cooler as an auxiliary rad is super inefficient, if your not experiencing cooling issues then sound, but if it is struggling then i reckon a heater matrix is the way to go..

Love it, did you change the front end to a metal removable one in the end?

Is there a reason for it being super inefficient. If it is then why would you use it on oil in the first place?

thanks all

the cooler works wonders, if they can cool oil then they will cool water very easilly. ive had a heater matrix there twice there just not strong enough to be in the engine bay end up leaking.

was going to make the front removeable but wanted it to look a stock as possible so i just welded it on in the end. glad i did to as it has turned out well

An oil cooler is designed to cool oil, not water, as a liquid they are both quite different, no? its like using a cheese grater as a file, yeah it would prob remove some material but not do a great job.. i suppose theres just that much more surface area on a heater matrix.. i do agree theyre delicate, mine cant even live in my heater without springin a leak!!

Southern Norway.

well its still to cool liquid :S i would say if you tried to cool it with a intercooler it would be inefficient. lol

a heater matrix is designed to loose heat to a pressurised air stream ducted from a fan, so it has a dence fin spacing. mount this open, with no ducting in the front of a car and most air will just flow around it.

an oil cooler is designed to be mounted in the front of a car with minimal/no ducting.

yes a heater matrix is more efficient on paper, but in practice i would happily wager the oil cooler is better in this setup, besides, its stronger and designed to be exposed to the eliments :)
