I'm sure you wont regret ditching the SU!

Well we always like more power. For some reason we could not get more than 15psi which was limiting power, so if we'd solved that on the old engine we could have made more. So if we can run more boost we'll make more power. But the main advantage is better fuelling control and launch and traction control. Relatively small valves, 33/29, same as the old head.

I'm sure you wont regret ditching the SU! this is going to be a great addition to the car, I imagine the ECU can map boost too which should be usefull, Is this a special small vave head for the 998? I don't think so, the numbers predict a little over 170bhp.

Traction control should tickle your balls a bit on the start line.. I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I don't think we want to be too optimistic. It is only the start of the development for the 7P so maybe 200 in a few years, but to get 170 now will be good. As I have inherited the old engine I am keen to keep up and hop to push that a little further and finally get to the bottom of the 15psi limit.

To your knowledge, what was limiting boost on the 5 port setup ? Rusty by nature

Not sure. It was suggested that the wastegat was blowing open. Now we have a 15psi actuator, so it seems unlikely that this was happening at 15psi.
