What paint did you use to darken your rear lights?

i used black spray paint inside the lenses. i had a spare set given to me so i thought i would try it before i throw them in the bin and it turned out ok. and you can see the light shine through absolutley fine.
I have crystal ones to go on, but i am verry unsure about extra reflectors and dont want none.. yet to make my mind up:)

it has almost been a yea, i am 2 months overdue but wih less han a weeks work left on i it am just happy to finally get somewhere near!
it has had loads more welding than origionally planned..

drivers side floor
both hinge panels
both door steps
one rear quarter bottom repair panel
scuttle
2 wings
both A-panels
and a battery box.
i was only expecting the drivers side floor pan!!

but it has been worth it to know its rust free

it was a drop gear that had broken last yea so hats replaced and all 10 teeth removed from geebox

i was going to pay for i being spayed but some things don't always go to plan, i ended up being on sick from wok for the past month and spend every day down there just having ago painting my self and i am very happy with the results. its not perfect but it was 200 quid worth of materials its worth every penny!

hopefully MOT next week:)

thanks phill, im deffo still here with the mini, some kind fellah decided he deserved my laptop more than me so i haven't been able to get on the internet for a while, i have been given an old computer now though is very temperamental and misses a few letters when typing, it was free. lol

But where did you get youre wheels from?
I see you use sportpack arches and the wheels are slightle wider then the arches, sweet!!!

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

looking nice i doo like the wheels in the sig, i like the look of sports pack arches too but they look better on a red mini

the wheels were from huddersfield spares.... the only place i know that does them, but the lacquer has come off very badly so i want to either get these refinished or sell these and buy some more as i am not planning on using it in the winter anymore i think i should be ok..

i do like sportspack arches on red minis! but black is the way forward

You don't use any spacer to get the wheels this far out:)

i have 175/50 on my 13x6's and 13x7's imo a little stretched on 13x8's

there are no spacers on they are 13x7. they came with dunlop sp9000 195/45s on but when i needed new front tyres i couldent get hold of them any more so i got 175/50/13 yokos now, they actually do look better with a bigger side wall.
and they are fake starmags, i got a friend to pick them up for me and when i got home from work and see them i was a bit gutted.. but now i love that they are deep dish and i think they look better than genuine starmags :)

and i have been pulled by traffic with them wheels and arches on... i was told she diden't want to see them on the car again!!!! this is very unjustified though.

car has been back on the road for 2/3 months now, had lots of problems but loads and loads of fun

paint didn't come out as i hoped but i am quite sure it just needs buffing again then should look right. it is ford panther black, but next to a real ford. it looks very dull :(





















overall i am happy with the things i have changed this year over last, i like the mk1 grill and the new seats. the paint needs work next year and i really want to tub the rear arches so i can have it a little lower at the rear. and need new front carpets etc. and i dont actually like the clear rear lenses. but its getting there :)

gotta be said this is going toward the top of my list of favourite mini's. Looks mint mate, awesome work and good luck with what more there is.

i liked my mole grips to open the door!! every single person that gets in the car says they like my new ones though :)

Anyway she's back in the lockup now till summer hopefully get all the jobs done that need doing but saving for a deposit on a house what are you to do? Lol
