The estate was a cracking car, look forward to see what you have planned for this one.

The estate has moved on, so I have started work on the clubby.

With the garage empty I took the opportunity to latex screed the floor and give it a lick of paint. It has made working the garage so much easier on the back and for rolling things around.

The front of the car was past saving and will probably be replaced with a plastic one anyway so off it came..

Stripped the sub-frames off the car and left a rolling shell (castors)

Started to survey the work ahead, looks like I'll be welding for a while!

It needs front and rear floors, sill, door hinge, door sill/frame, inner arch...... and that's just the drivers side! There is also an interesting repair to the rear quarter panel, not quite worked out what has been done there yet.

All good fun!

Oh, and a sneaky one of things to come, Cheers Carl!

Could be worse. Looks like the panel that Wil tried to stuff into my box and I left with Nick will come in handy.

Minor update, decided to make a spit to make life easier.

Stripped down to a shell now ready for all the metal work over winter.

I'm going to brace the shell before any more metal(rust) is removed.

Spit looks a good job buddy. Have you got a spot welder? If not I cannot recommend one highly enough. Makes welding complete panels like sills etc a breeze, also leaves a factory looking tidy finish.

The spit isn't finished yet but I am really pleased with it, you can move the car round with one finger. I just need to mount to spit to the bearings on the frames either end, and make a locking device.

I have considered a spot welder, will need to see how generous Santa is this year!

Keep your eye out for second hand, they pop up quite often as although they are super useful when you need one, they are one of those things that you only use occasionally. I've had 2 jobs for mine in the past 5 years for example.

I got my spot welder for £130 on ebay. And ive just rediscovered how useful it is again this week.

There are some on ebay that are £200 that I looked into and from speaking to buyers, they seem really pleased with it.

*News Flash*

Kean finds his way to garage after nearly a year!

Getting married kinda put the brakes on playing in the garage, but now thats all sorted I've finally managed to do a little work. Only a little mind, but should hopefully give me the inspiration to do more.

Pics

Thats all for now..
